Create and validate materials and information for use in the production of genetically modified crops such as maize and soybean
Provide quality control review of genetic construct documentation and ensure appropriate track and trace in internal database systems
Provide scientific expertise and support event generation pipeline efforts required to deliver business objectives defined by a project or supervisor
Participate in development of new protocols and capabilities for material generation and validation
Design and execute complex experiments to generate data from biological materials using established systems and proceduresEssential Duties & Responsibilities: Follow existing vector quality control processes, procedures and systems to independently design and execute complex experiments
Preparation, validation and handoff of materials required for transgenic event generation
Provide expertise in construct documentation including component naming and annotation Prepare, check and enter vector information into databases
Deliver results in fast changing business environments Develop and/or improve existing processes and protocols to improve function capability and efficiency in collaboration with othersSkills:
Education & Experience:
Minimal qualifications of Bachelors degree with 2-4 years of experience or Masters degree with 1-2 years of experience
Experience in genetics, molecular biology or related biotechnology research lab.
Experience with microbiology techniques including aseptic techniques and bacterial culture
Experience with recombinant DNA technology, plasmid DNA isolation, restriction analysis, PCR and sequencing
Experience in DNA analysis software for generating and annotating vector maps
Experience in data handling and analysis and lab information management
Experience with Next Generation Sequencing and library preparation a plusAdditional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities: Excellent analytical and communication skills in interpreting and presenting study results
Proficiency in use of standard Microsoft Office software e.g., Excel and PowerPoint;
Excellent attention to detail and quality mindset
Demonstrated experience in working effectively as a member of a dynamic technical team Flexibility in handling new job assignments and achieving results in a rapidly changing work environment
Ability to work independently and set priorities
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
