At Bayer you have the opportunity to be part of a culture where we value the passion of our employees to innovate and give them the power to change.Scientist IIYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBLITIESThe primary responsibilities of this role, Scientist II, are to: Monitor, conduct and interpret environmental/ecotoxicology studies,effects characterizations, and risk assessments;Be able to present/defend study results to internal teams and external community (e.g., local regulatory agency and scientific community);Apply scientific principles to solve complex scientific problems and to develop and implement innovative research and/or technology driven proposals;Develop an understanding of EPA / PMRA and other regulatory guidelines and policies around environmental exposure and risk evaluation and utilize this knowledge to produce factual and persuasive risk assessments for a range of crop protection products;Possess technical expertise on at least one key Environmental Safety sub-discipline (e.g., entomology, avian or wildlife toxicology, endocrine effects, etc.) and assist other scientists in addressing issues relating to this area of expertise;Work effectively as a member of regional and global safety assessment and cross-functional product development teams;Keep current with emerging issues, science and technical advances in environmental toxicology and risk assessment;Have the ability to establish partnership-based working relationships with scientific experts within academic, regulatory and industry communities to advance regulatory science;Actively seek ways to bring innovation to environmental studies and assessments.WHO YOU AREYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications: Ph.D. with 3 years OR Masters degree with 5 years OR Bachelors degree with 7 years of relevant experience in Environmental Toxicology, Risk Assessment, Biology, Ecology, Population/Effects Modeling, or related field;Direct experience with the conduct of environmental toxicology, laboratory and field studies, and/or environmental risk assessments;Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially with regards to research findings;Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment;Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to a frequently changing environment;Strong knowledge in bio-statistical analysis.
