Quality Control Officer

 PETERSON FARMSHarrodsburg Drying/Process Center JOB TITLE                           Quality Control OfficerREPORTS TO:                    Drying Plant ManagerPOSITION SUMMARY  The  Quality Control Officer  is responsible for ongoing monitoring of the drying process to assure both incoming and outgoing material meet all production standards.  This position demands an analytical, detailed oriented individual  who can act independently.   He/she constantly uses data to know the condition of the product and will communicate frequently with the plant manager to assure a quality output  This job is a 3 month Assignment at our Harrodsburg, KY facility engaged in processing raw hemp for our partner oil extraction company.  The QC officer will be on site during production, and reports to Peterson Farms Operations Officer.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Monitors hemp biomass arriving at the dryer, continuously through the drying process, and at its emergence to assure proper moisture content and other conditions are as specified.Insures 100% traceability of the product, making sure units, varieties and any unique characteristics are properly identified.Uses computer data and process equipment readouts to measure content and provides real time information to the plant manager and others needing to know.Acts independently and has responsibility to suspend operations when quality standards are not being met.Works closely with the Packout Manager to assure materials leaving the drying facility are packaged to quality standards Works to assure the overall conditions throughout the drying plant are consistent with Certification and process standards.Monitors conditions within the plant to assure a safe working environment. KEY SKILLS REQUIREDOrganization skills -  Ability to be observant, organized and detailed in upholding quality standards, keeping material separate and isolated;  assuring 100% traceability in material records. Communication skills Open communicator with good listening skills.

Pest Control Advisor (PCA)

 Position Summary:The PCA provides recommendations for the agriculture use of pest management materials, including chemical pesticides, organic pesticides and beneficial insects that are environmentally and ethically sound. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Scout agriculture fields to determine and diagnose any disease or pests that may affect the crop for yield lossDetermine and provide recommendations on proper treatment of diseased and/or infested cropsCoordinate with production and marketing teams to schedule pesticide applications and communicate quality issuesSupervise the scheduling of all chemical applications both in-house and by third party contractorsSet up in-house sprays prior to plantingCommunicate and coordinate with production, harvesting, marketing, safety, and food safety teams to ensure information on treated fields is disseminated accurately and properlyComplete and send out a daily report of all spray jobs scheduled including method of application, pre-harvest interval, and re-entry datesOversee and order inventory of in-house chemicals as neededReview all pesticide application invoices for accounting verificationWork with marketing and production teams to achieve the highest product quality standardsWork with safety and food safety teams to maintain a company safety culture at the highest levelEnsure compliance with all state and federal regulations including the Department of Pesticide Regulations Physical demands and travel The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; talk and listen for extended amounts of time.
