Agronomy Plant Supervisor

Agronomy Plant Supervisor Education/Experience: Education or experience in Crop & Soil preferred Skills/Traits: Self-motivated, clear communicator; adaptable to technological trends and tools; basic knowledge of seed genetics and crop protection; demonstrates personal & corporate integrity through honest and equitable treatment of customers and fellow employees.  Tasks:1. Plant and Warehouse Operations – Agronomy plant and warehouse operations involve operating the plant and warehouse efficiently. Product Preparation – Ensure efficient process from receiving order to billing and customer delivery/loadingPrepare the mix schedule and ensure that it is completed in a timely mannerMaintain quality control at or above the standards set by CFEAccount for each mix or other service by accurately completing paperwork monitoring inventory controlFollow billing procedures Delivery – Delivery involves supervising efficient delivery of product.Ensure appropriate  paperwork is completed prior to loading or deliveryEnsure product delivery to specified locationInspect all products as they are loaded and unloadedVerify that all items listed on paperwork are loaded and deliveredProvide customer with an accurate copy of paperwork and collect payment if needed Make proper recommendations and applications of products soldKnow and use all resources necessary to make proper recommendations and applications of products soldCorrectly identify resources for assistanceKeep resource materials accessible and currentEnsure no product problems result due to your recommendationAttend all product updates and service training sessions Know prices of products and servicesBe aware at all times of the cooperative’s prices on commodities and services and review with your supervisor on a regular basis 2. Sales and Service – Sales and service involves building sales through providing exceptional service.Ensure appropriate paperwork is made out prior to loading or deliveryAssist customer with loading or unloadingRespond to and report all customer complaintsApproach customers with a friendly greeting and thank them for choosing CFEAnswer phone promptly and courteouslySell related items when appropriate to increase sales and satisfy customer needsDevelop personal skills and knowledge on an ongoing basisAttend product and cooperative meetings as assigned by your supervisorBe neat and clean in appearance 3.  Inventory – Inventory involves managing inventory levelsFollow the system for monitoring and controlling inventory levels that results in minimal shrinkageCheck in shipments for accuracy against the deliver ticket, verifying quantity and quality and forward paperwork to appropriate individualClear out obsolete inventoriesMaintain inventories at levels to assure service with a minimum of delivery delays, yet maintain inventory turn goalsPerform monthly inventory cycle countsSubmit feedback received from customers on product linesAssist management in identifying inventory opportunitiesCheck the scale regularlyUse caution and prescribed safety measures for handling liquid fertilizersPromptly submit accurate paperwork to appropriate individualsKeep equipment calibrated accuratelyEnsure no product spills 4. Safety and maintenance – Safety and maintenance involves maintaining equipment and facilities, operating trucks and equipment safely, communicating safe storage and handling procedures to customers, and upholding company safety policies Maintain equipment and facilitiesMaintain vehicles and equipment as recommended by the manufacturerReport any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisorMeet all federal and state and OSHA regulationsKeep current on laws and regulations related to your area of responsibilityOversee plant equipment and facilities regular maintenanceOversee housekeeping and sanitation standardsDelegate equipment repair internally or outsource Operate vehicles and equipment safelyReceive no state or federal citationsReceive no valid customer complaints concerning your driving Communicate safe storage and handling procedures to customerEnsure customers are informed of safe product handling Uphold cooperative safety policiesMake recommendations on replacement, additions, or deletions of facilities and equipment when needed and/or economically justifiedComply with CFE Safety Policy 5. Credit policies - Uphold cooperative credit policiesMake credit terms known to all customersDo not charge to customers on COD or extend credit to customers who have not been approved by the general managerDo not authorize customer charges that exceed set credit limitsKeep all personal accounts current 6. Compliance – practice all government and company regulations, policies, procedures and practicesComplete all required safety & compliance trainingCooperate with any audits/inspections requestedEnsure facility meets OSHA, EPA, DEQ & MDA standards 7. Other – The agronomy plant supervisor will uphold CFE’s policies, perform other duties as assigned by management, and will enforce and uphold CFE’s credit policy.Uphold all CFE policiesPerform duties as requested by managementEnforce and uphold the CFE credit  policyMake credit terms known to all employees and customersDo not charge to customers on CODDo  not extend credit to customers who  have not been approved by the credit managerDo not authorize customer charges that exceed set credit limitsKeep all personal accounts current Objective:  To perform all tasks in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and vision, and result in outstanding customer service.
