Seasonal Sales/Product Development Associate – SEEDWAY – Hall, NY
?Seedway is?headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has?about 220?employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers.?The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed.?Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.?PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT?Provides support for product development of small plots and demonstration plot program and it?s related functions.??ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS?Prepares seed packets and plot planting setup for ten plot locations and nurseries?Plants and harvests plot locations?Assists with equipment maintenance?Collects and transfers data from office to field?Demonstrates plot seed preparation?Supports field signing for company wide sales group?Helps nursery operations ? may include limited weekend work in peak period of pollination?Supports sales group in all functions where the product development links with the sales group (field days, literature, other as needed)??OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS?Follows GROWMARK?s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.?Performs all other duties as assigned.??REQUIREMENTS?Normally requires an Associate Degree in plant science, or other business related discipline, and at least 1 year of related experience, or the equivalent thereof, including project management, problem solving and planning skills.?Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.?Must obtain and maintain necessary licensing and regulatory qualifications with Seedway assistance, training and support???????????Must have and maintain a valid CDL Class A driver?s license and satisfactory driving record.?Frequently exposed to working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures?Ability to travel independently and overnight.?Will be required to work hours other than those considered ?normal? to meet seasonal demands.?Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK?s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.???We are an equal opportunity employer, including protected veterans and qualified individuals with disabilities.
