Security and Network Administrator
Reporting to the CIO, the Security and Network Administrator directs the planning and implementation of the Association’s IT systems, operations, and facility defenses against security breaches and vulnerability issues. This individual is also responsible to plan, install, upgrade, monitor, and maintain the LAN, WAN, and other networking systems.SECURITY DUTIES: 1. Oversee the administration of all IT and physical security systems.2. Review, evaluate, and make recommendations in regard to the Associations IT security program.3. Develop and administer security policies and guidance to ensure compliance with regulation and industry standards. Assist with the remediation of identified risks and the implementation of security measures. Create and employ methodologies, templates, guidelines, checklists, procedures, and other documents in support of the Associations IT security framework.4. Develop and deliver end user and IT staff training and develop/distribute related documentation on IT security and appropriate IT usage guidelines and practices.5. Provide security analysis and monitoring of IT activities to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place and are enforced. Conduct security risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify weaknesses, risks, and protection requirements.6. Promote and oversee strategic security relationships between internal resources and external entities, including partner organizations, borrowers, the financial community, regulatory agencies, third party vendors, and other Farm Credit System peers.7. Remain knowledgeable on trends and issues in the security industry, including current and emerging technologies and prices. Advise and educate executive and management on their relative importance and financial impact.8. Coordinate incident response and participate in disaster recovery planning and activities.NETWORK DUTIES: 1. Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of the department's network infrastructure.2. Monitor, troubleshoot and analyze network performance across the organizations LANs, WANs and wireless deployments.3. Document Association systems and procedures, ensuring that all systems adhere to industry standards and ensure compliance with regulation.4. Remain knowledgeable on trends and recommend enhancement to meet new or changing network demands.OTHER DUTIES:1. Assist with special projects as directed by management and perform other IT support duties as assigned.2. Other duties as required. QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS· Strong analysis, troubleshooting and project management skills.· Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience with information security and related technologies.· Working knowledge of networking, routing, and switching protocols and proper network design infrastructure.· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.Security certification in one or more of CISSP, CISM, CISA, CGEIT strongly preferred.
