Seed Health Testing Lab Lead
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Health Testing Lab Lead, are to:
Manage a team of 6 direct reports, 18 full time employees and 15 contract employees;
Ensure adequate facilities, equipment, instruments, number of trained personnel and approved procedures are available;
Ensure testing data (200,000 testing points/year) is governed by approved, validated methods and complies with applicable regulations, certifications and/or accreditations that impact millions of dollars in sales revenue;
Ensure full compliance with Bayer standards in health, safety and environmental procedures are maintained.
Manage the product compliance quality system at the site including documentation and the respective trainings;
Develop strategies for implementation of new technologies, Production Systems integration, talent management, capacity optimization and cost containment.;
Connect directly with global stakeholders, customers and other laboratory teams;
Responsible for final approvals of site specific legal documents, operational procedures, procurement contracts and other business critical documentation.

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Eningeering, or Business related discipline;
5 or more years of leaership or managerial experience;
Knowledge of Lean practices and demonstrated experience in integrating continuous improvement cultures in a laboratory or manufacturing environment;
Extensive knowledge of vegetable or row crops seeds industry and operations;
Financial acumen and experience with operational budgets, cost management practices and capital management;
Ability to develop an organization or team focused on a customer service mindset;
Experience with leading the integration of new technologies and processes into an operation;
Building relationships with management, subordinates and peers within and outside of the Quality Testing organization;
Proven ability to develop teams and leaders and an understanding Qualification & Competencies: of servant leadership principles;
Understanding of process qualification methods and importance of standards adherence. – Experience in interfacing with regulatory agencies.;
Profound knowledge about work safety in lab environments.
Domestic Relocation may be provided for this role.
