CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations group. We are looking for a Seed Manager to provide leadership for our seed business, Allegiant, and YieldPoint Region leaders. You must have proven analytical and organizational skills as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization. You will: Develop and refine seed and Yield Point sales strategy, structure, training incentives and customer base.Collaborate with leadership to create efficient, competitive and aligned seed portfolio to create value for CHS and its member owners.Work closely with field sales management and external retail partners to achieve business goals and long-term growth. Understand the core business of retail partners including a three-year strategy to drive business success.Manage product stewardship and complete and execute the Country Operations seed marketing plan aligned with our company objectives. Act as subject matter expert on brand products and services. Leverage product knowledge and questioning ability to help analyze Country Operations sales and understand what training is needed to enhance sales of seed.Leverage business acumen to prioritize alignment of tactics, allocate resourcing to structure resourcing to help retailer accomplish their goals and optimize the return on investment.Influence and collaborate across Country Operations leveraging the ability to position and sell 3rd party brands in conjunction with Allegiant.Speak to company practices as it relates to current/future products, pricing and other corporate initiatives with dealers, growers and members of the communityEffectively interact with organizations or individuals, while balancing and leveraging the dynamics of each relationship. Manage multiple strategic partners who directly compete in the market.Connect internally with peers on programs, situations and issues to gain alignment and support for resolution.Conduct financial and business analysis of supply base including supply/demand/capacity analysis.Develop negotiation strategies and drive stated goals and objectives. Document results, terms and conditions as well as appropriate contractual agreements.Manage supplier development/relationships to ensure continuity of good and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the company. Rate and evaluate suppliers based on their delivery performance and follow up through continuous improvement plans.Assist in setting forecasts for the budget cycles. Track forecast vs actual savings for the procurement team and be responsible for communicating performance against these measures and their potential budgetary impact. Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor's degree in an Agriculture, Business or related field of study (additional years of related experience may offset degree requirement)10 plus years of experience in agriculture to include:Report creation and analysis in ExcelDeveloping an effective sales organization including strategy, customer segmentation, training and talent developmentProfit and Loss (P&L) management and budgeting experience3 years of supervisory experience including managing multiple direct reportsPreferred Qualifications: (desired)MBAKnowledge of seed industryApply for this job.
