YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Technician, are to:
Adherence to Bayers Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards (e.g. general shop floor/machine safety and operating procedures);
Interpret and process documents and process orders within a timely manner;
Verify seed variety and treatment weight based upon information in process order;
Operate equipment based upon defined standard procedures;
Operate seed moisture and counter equipment;
Pull and collect seed samples following established procedures;
Performs, validates and records all needed information on process order;
Ensure safe seed handling to avoid quality issues and report any quality issues immediately to Leadership team;
Complies with Bayer Safety guidelines and housekeeping practices, trainings and including Personal Protective Equipment *This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts or working conditions associated with the job. Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED);
One year experience working in a similarly industrial manufacturing environment;
Ability to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support business needs;
Ability to operate a forklift and/or swing-reach lift;
Use of calculator, scales and other operations equipment;
Knowledge of Basic Computer Skills (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
Ability to understand physical seed appearance;
Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle or feel;
Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
Position involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting up to 60 pounds;
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, in addition employee frequently is required to walk. Preferred Qualifications:
Technical, Associates or Bachelors degree;
Mechanical abilities (able to operate and troubleshoot equipment);
Intermediate computer skills with experience using SAP Prior agricultural experience;
Three years of experience in a rotating-shift manufacturing environment. #LI-POST
