Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us Feed the Future, and grow your career.Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, HRBP, the Sr. Advisor provides, professional consultation on employee relations, site recruitment, benefts programs, talent management, labor relations, and employee disciplinary issues to Leadership and employees. This role supports activities related to negotiating, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to the White Springs collective bargaining agreement.What you will do:Provides support on general human resources related items such as recruiting and onboarding, exit interviews and terminations, employee relations, absence management, compensation and benefits, and performance management in conjunction with the Center of Excellence and the HR Shared Service Center for all employees at the White Springs siteAdministers and conducts activity in regard to the HRIS Bid/Roll tool utilized at the White Springs site. Reviews for accuracy and advises on findings to leadershipMaintains a working relationship with union officials and ensures consistent compliance to the terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation and administration of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditionsAdvises, under the direction of the Sr. Manager, HRBP, employees regarding Company policy and collective bargaining application interpretation and ensures proper and consistent applicationDistributes and monitors employee performance evaluations for hourly employees and ensures the evaluations are timely completed in accordance with the probationary period check in pointsMonitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued to employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism records as defined in the the White Springs CBA. Administers, evaluates and edits documentation including grievances and responses, disciplinary actions and manages and tracks each disciplinary action issued Represents management in investigating, answering and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between the union and leadershipDirectly participates in labor negotiations and serves as a secondary point-of-contact for the Sr. Manager, HRBP to assist with raised concerns and problem resolution as it relates to the White Springs CBA.Develops and conducts or participates in specialized presentations and training, covering operational and/or technical HR-related information for all White Springs employeesDetermines, gathers, and analyzes evidentiary information necessary to evaluate compliance issues for various areas in HRParticipates in developing departmental goals and objectives for the site HR department in alignment with higher level goals in the organizationAssists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of the site HR department in relation to established goals and recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performedPrepares and presents on necessary topics as requested by the business and provides required and specialized reports as necessaryMaintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulationsReconciles HR department budget and presents to Sr. Manager, HRBP each monthMaintains and coordinates employee recognition programs as neededWhat you will bring:6+ years in a Human Resources generalist role within a union environment and background in employment law and other government compliance regulationsA bachelor’s degree with a Human Resources focus is desirablePHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plusExperience working in SAP is a plusSafety CommitmentCommunication & Interpersonal SkillsEngagement and AccountabilityContinuous ImprovementCoaching & Developing OthersResults Orientation & Resource ManagementStrong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse communityAbility to write/amend documents that accurately captures issue(s)Ability to prepare and present training programs and materialsAbility to use independent judgement and to manage confidential informationKnowledge of equal opportunityKnowledge of human resources administration principles and practicesKnowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulationsKnowledge of compensation administration principles and proceduresKnowledge of FMLA leave policies, procedures, and practicesKnowledge of ADA, FLSA, and other employment legislation and regulationsKnowledge in the field of labor relationsAbility to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problemsAbility to investigate and analyze claims information and to draw conclusionsAdvanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively summarize and present informationAbility to gather data, compile information and prepare reportsKnowledge of current and emerging legislation, issues and trends as appropriate to the positionAre you a good match?
