Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont is looking for a Senior Agronomist to serves as a primary field contact for seed production, which includes: grower management and support (acreage planning, quality control, etc.), coordinating integrated pest management program, and coordinating production research programs at the plant level.
Responsibilities:Supervise field work, plant operations and prepare reports as assigned by the Plant Manager or Field Operations Manager.Supervise employees assigned to their operational area including temporary and seasonal workers to address peak workloads. The number will vary by and season.Coach growers on developing production management programs which enhance grower profitability. Maintain regular communication with growers and resolve conflicts as they arise.Maintain grower evaluation program to effectively and fairly measure grower productivity.Responsible for all aspects of grower contracts (implementation, price elections, contract elections, contract questions, payment problems). Will work closely with plant administrative staff.Manage seed acreage contract allocations to growers.Coordinate production research programs at the plant level including initiation and follow through of programs to address specific needs of the plant environment.Be knowledgeable of current agronomic practices and government agricultural programs.Participate/ lead plant activities as assigned by location and field managers.Participate in all related areas of Corteva?s ISO 9000 Quality Management System to assure the highest possible product quality.Champion safety programs and strongly support the growth and maintenance of Corteva?s safety efforts.Strongly support Six-Sigma/Lean efforts throughout the entire operations.Qualifications:Bachelor?s degree in ag-related area or equivalent experience.5?8 years? experience working with seed growers and seed plant operations.Good verbal and written communication skills.Leadership experienceAbility to motivate, supervise and work well with others.Influencing skills, analytical skills, data management, data analysis, and statistical techniques.Technical background in seed & crop production.PC based software skills.Ability to work 50% of time in field/plant environment.Moderate lifting is involved (50lbs).Ability to walk fields, climb, andwork long hours during peak seasons.This position is located out of the Wahpeton, North Dakotaproduction plant, but candidates may live in the surrounding areas.
