Senior Analytical Chemist
Corteva Agriscience?, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont?has an exciting opportunity for Senior Analytical Chemist within R&D. The the incumbent will provide mass spectrometric support services to CPRS labs and other R&D functions to aid in the discovery, development, registration, and commercialization of new and existing products. This position requires considerable cross-functional interaction, demanding teamwork and strong communication skills in addition to technical ability to develop new pesticide analytical methods and update existing methods for the generation of high quality MS data. Primary Responsibilities:Solve non-routine analytical challenges through the application of scientific expertise. Proactively engage colleagues in the CPRS and other areas to aid in the design and execution of experiments aimed at identifying parent molecules and/or metabolite(s) in crops, animal tissues, and environmental matrices as dictated by market needs. Seek innovative ways to provide analytical expertise and services, maintain exceptional data quality and improve productivity, and enhances communication and collaboration with partners/customers in all R&D functionsChampion the appropriate applications of new mass spectral techniques within Corteva Agrisciences R&DStay abreast of new discoveries and technologies in the area of residue chemistry and implement new approaches when appropriate.Participate in the scientific community outside Corteva Agrisciences through presentations, and attendance at scientific meetings. Comply with all laboratory safety procedures, EPA Good Laboratory Practice Standards, Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for use and handling of radioactive materials, and all other study-specific or pertinent regulatory agency requirements.Take responsibility for the routine repair and maintenance of analytical instrumentation. Qualifications:Required Qualifications: Masters Degree or PhD preferred in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or related field with special emphasis in the disciplines of analytical or environmental chemistry.Previous experience in the related disciplinesbasic understanding of trace analytical procedures in environmental matrices and separation science principles.
