Senior Area Safety Manager
Collaborate with support Safety and Operations leadership to implement Safety strategies for poultry and live operations. Position will be responsible for providing support and oversight of multiple locations. Developing and mentoring Safety TEAM Members to ensure a safe, secure and compliant work environment for TEAM Members Provides strategic direction and oversight to multiple locations in regards to safety, security, and sustainability programs. This includes compliance auditing, communication, and education of operations leaders and TEAM Members on safety, security, and sustainability standards and practices. Ensures locations comply with all federal, state and local regulations. Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to TEAM Members and direct reports. Consults and reviews capital expenditure requests to insure safety and security compliance is achieved. Collaborates with locations to achieve superior performance in achieving safety and health metrics. Utilizes ongoing compliance audit results to recommend and implement continuous improvement. Directly manages relationships with regulatory agencies including managing agency inspections/audits, handling reporting requirements and responding to citations. Provide leadership and assistance for in-depth investigations into serious safety incidents. Manages the emergency response systems in response to a plant safety crisis. Partners with operations and other support groups on Process Safety Management, OSHA compliance regulation, Notices of Violations, and other initiatives as required. REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree or combination of equivalent experience and education; preferably in safety engineering, occupational safety and health or related
Experience: 6 + years' experience in safety compliance and management of othersComputer Skills: Intermediate computer skills with experience in Microsoft experience
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong influence, communication, problem solving, planning, implementation and change management skills
Supervisory: Will manage multiple professional TEAM Members and various locations
Special Skills: Professional certifications preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
