GROWMARK is large enough to offer solid career opportunities, but small enough to provide a family-oriented, welcoming environment and great benefits.PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Serves as the primary backup for assigned Area Sales Managers in working with assigned customers and member cooperatives to sell and service Crop Nutrients Division products and ensure profitability. Ensures Crop Nutrients Division staff are trained to delight customers with the service they receive. SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP Provides leadership to all other positions performing customer service functions for Crop Nutrients. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Serves as the primary backup for assigned Area Sales Managers and in their absence serves as the primary contact person for all the sales, information, and operational needs of their assigned customers for Crop Nutrients Division products and services.    Works with assigned Area Sales Managers to administer and control prices and programs offered by GROWMARK and the manufacturers in order to make customer recommendations. Calls upon customers at the direction of the Sales Directors in support of the Area Sales Managers and in their absence.  Has full authority to function in their capacity when necessary. Communicates with Area Sales Managers when issues arise with assigned members.  Assists in developing strategies for each member to keep all purchases of Crop Nutrients Division products within GROWMARK. Ensures that any Crop Nutrients staff carrying out customer service activities are properly trained on business processes and usage of business systems to deliver a delightful customer experience. Handles order-flow processing with vendors and internal staff for crop nutrients orders. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of regional plant food wholesale marketers in area and recommends the acquisition of product when advantageous to members. Gathers information on competitive offers on programs or prices from customers and shares with assigned Area Sales Managers. Understands and keeps members up to date on strategies employed by our competitors and suppliers. Coordinates with the Crop Nutrients Business Operations team to recommend enhancements to business processes or systems that improve the customer experience when interacting with Crop Nutrients. Assists in the collection of customer orders on all division programs.  Follows up as needed to assure all member orders are received.  Reviews Area Sales Manager inputs to assure correctness.    Serves as the primary contact for customers on order fulfillment and order control systems, sales programs and contracts, excess inventory, billing exceptions, invoice protests, and credit challenges, etc. Leads the process of coordinating Crop Nutrients staff to ensure 24-hour assistance is available to customers during the busy season including weekend coverage on a revolving basis. Communicates and collaborates with all other areas on customer issues and opportunities in order to provide full and complete customer account stewardship through one channel. Maintains a working knowledge of OMNI/SAP, e-Supply and other computer systems, such as Kahler and Murray systems, for purposes of customer problem resolution. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Assists in providing backup service to other Area Sales Managers as required and directed. Follows GROWMARK s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a degree in agronomy, ag economics, ag business, marketing, or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years or more of agronomy marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to backup assigned Area Sales Managers. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver s license and satisfactory driving record. Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed. Must have the ability to work extended hours as needed.Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
