Senior Commodity Trader
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Global Grain Marketing team! CHS is looking for a Senior Commodity Trader (Corn) to join our Global Trading desk. In this role, you must be able to work with a diverse group of people, customers and leadership across the business. This role requires independent decision making while utilizing details, facts and data to make informed decisions. Details, strong communication and ability to build relationships is a must in this position. This position is expected to collaborate across all global trading desks, share best practices and lead through CHS leadership expectations.You will:Devise and implement the Global Trading Strategy.Align the Global regions in their positioning and trading.Manage a team of employees responsible for the global trade Direct the commercial activity of CHS marketers at global destinations for corn. Drive destination market access for the CHS supply chain, by maintaining competitive prices through global price discovery.Develop the annual business plan, budget and forecast.Form and execute strategies for positioning, buying and selling of corn.Perform market analysis on and interpret global trade flows and commodity supply/demand.Monitor and interpret the macro-trends of financial markets and the global economy that can impact the respective commodity prices in the short, medium and long term.Manage supply chains within the CHS Global Grain Marketing platform.Maintain existing customer base and identify, develop and build new opportunities.Resolve issues and disputes with accounting, transportation, shippers and buyers/end users.Provide exceptional customer service by being the first point of contact with the consumer, user, and marketer and in some cases utilizing divisional marketing resources.Develop staff through the sharing of knowledge & ideas and providing clear direction of goals.Travel to relevant origins and destinations globally. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree10 plus years of merchandising experience ? preferably in the global sectorMust be able to read and understand a daily position report (long & short)Experience managing a P&LWorking knowledge of GAFTA contracts and futures exchange rulesPreferred Qualifications: (desired)Bachelor?s degree in Ag Business, Ag Economics, or other business-related programExperience working with international teamsPrevious leadership experience, preferably global leadershipApply for this job.
