?Functions and Responsibilities?Sunkist is an agricultural marketing cooperative, owned by thousands of California and Arizona citrus growers. Sunkist's annual fresh fruit sales exceed $1 billion, and, in addition, Sunkist licenses its trademarks for a variety of beverages, foods, and other products worldwide.?Sunkist's law Division has only two lawyers: the Vice President/General Counsel and the Senior Counsel/ Corporate Secretary. These lawyers, along with a small professional staff, directly support Sunkist's other Divisions as needs arise.?The Law Division also oversees (and supports) Sunkist's Intellectual Property Department and Pension Benefits Department.Sunkist's Senior Counsel/Corporate Secretary will need to have- or, at least, to be able to develop promptly- a breadth of legal and business skills to advise and represent Sunkist in mostly transactional areas, including real estate, pension, insurance, tax, cooperative organization, and intellectual property, all with a minimum of supervision. Experience with Agricultural law is a plus.The Senior Counsel/ Corporate Secretary will also be responsible for Sunkist's corporate? recordkeeping.Sunkist's Senior Counsel/Corporate Secretary will also serve in the same position and have similar duties at Fruit Growers Supply Company, which is another cooperative owned by Sunkist's growers.Other duties as assigned by General Counsel.?Contacts with OthersThe Senior Counsel/ Corporate Secretary will also serve with senior management, outside counsel, and third parties (such as vendors and licensees) and internal staff as needed.Educational RequirementsDegree in Law.
