We currently have a Sr. Data Governance Analyst position available at the Simplot Global Headquarters in Boise, ID.
SUMMARYThe Sr. Data Governance Analyst will play a significant role in driving data governance, including master data management, metadata management, business rules, data origination, data quality, and data profiling and cleansing. The role will partner closely with business unit and functional management, IT data teams and end users to improve the quality and value of core data assets. The Sr. Data Governance Analyst will be instrumental in establishing and monitoring adherence to the standards, guidelines and processes used to effectively and efficiently govern the companys data. RESPONSIBILITIES Articulate data governance vision, strategy, and importance of managing data as an asset. Create/maintain and deliver training on data governance standards and guidelines in accordance with enterprise data governance policy. Lead set up of data domain groups. Lead data decision-making process in a consistent and transparent manner. Drive governance action items through completion. Design and report process performance metrics for data governance, data management, data quality and metadata management. Track/manage standards, guidelines and processes improvement opportunities. Ensure data management/metadata management strategy is implemented and reflected in standards and processes. Identify and capture data asset lifecycle and source-to-target data mapping through data discovery. Identify business requirements for data origination/data maintenance workflows and service levels. Ensure timely capture and resolution of data issues. Lead discovery and recording of business metadata. Ensure metadata remains up to date. Parnter with IT to ensure technical metadata is recorded/updated in a data dictionary. Identify/remediate gaps in business and technical metadata. Promote the dimensions of data quality. Partner with key stakeholders to define data standards/business rules that ensure data quality requirements. Lead business case creation with IT and business reps to articulate the cost-benefit of addressing issues resulting from data profiling assessments. Participate in data cleansing efforts by identifying the business requirements and collaborating with IT to improve data quality. Design data quality reporting requirements. Communicate state of data quality with data stakeholders and assist in resolving questions and resulting action items. Create roadmaps to clearly illustrate when data capabilities will be implemented or enhanced. Build detailed project plans to implement roadmap capabilities. Closely monitor deliverables to ensure they are delivered to specification, on-time and on-budget. Partner with change management to communicate and roll-out significant changes to the data culture.
REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university required; Master's Degree preferredFive to eight years related experience and/or trainingExperience in executing data and process improvement initiatives requiredDemonstrated understanding of data governance conceptsDemonstrated partnering skills with both technical and non-technical partners (including senior leadership) with focus on informing, influencing, and relationship buildingStrong consultative skills which includes the proven ability to influence consensus decision making across a variety of stakeholders and to succinctly document the outcome of these decisionsSelf-motivated and results-orientedExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile, fast-paced environmentExperience with SAP preferredWillingness to travel up to 10%, which may include international travelCombination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
