Senior Director Enterprise Strategy
SUMMARY:Reporting to the Vice President, Enterprise Strategy the Senior Director of Portfolio Strategy & Planning will be the pivotal process owner and linchpin in driving a market-back, trend-informed approach to setting multi-year strategic plans for global Tyson Foods, leading the Company to the next phase of its transformation into a truly global leader of innovative food experiences and a leading CPG. This leader will examine the corporate portfolio in the context of industry structure, conduct and performance; consumer and customer trends and insights; and competitive dynamics to recommend changes to the global portfolio and key strategic corridors that provide growth opportunities. This leader will design a process that will assess the implications of these strategies for resource allocation, BU and market portfolio roles, and capability building. In particular, he/she will: Set a formal multi-year enterprise strategy process that will deliver clear portfolio strategies, ~5-7 critical enterprise-wide strategic “themes” for focus, financial targets and resource allocation guidance for a 3-5 year period Ensure key topics such as risk management, sustainability, animal welfare, and worker safety are holistically integrated into Tyson's strategic planning process Integrate appropriate competitive, marketplace, and other trends and insights to inform the multiyear Strategy Coordinate with the Sr. Director of M&Ato ensure enterprise strategies are translated into clear M&A strategies Develop and improve a cascading approach that enables the organization to translate the long-range enterprise strategy to long-range BU and brand strategies, annual BUand brand plans, commercial plans and functional plans, in turn Support the BUs in fielding and/or independently field new initiatives on key strategy topics — to include project planning, execution of structured problem solving and analytics, business case development, cost benefit evaluation and maximization of financial return, and implementation planning. Actively manage, collaborate with, coach, and lead project staff and key partners in Insights, Finance and other functions to ensure effective and efficient completion of all strategic activities, including market analysis, financial analysis, internal and external presentations, and Strategic communications .BACKGROUND REQUIREDThe successful candidate will have a combined 5-10 years as a strategy executive within a high-performing multi-national CPG organization and/or within a blue chip consulting firm, achieving status of senior engagement manager or higher. Significant knowledge of anddirect experience in the food sector — branded retail, foodservice, and commodity, in strategy or other roles, preferred. This will require a leader that is results-oriented, takes initiative, implements systems and frameworks to make strategic decisions; comfortably builds partnerships across functional expertise; is resourceful where others only see obstacles; has high commercial acumen; and is seen as a change catalyst for delivering value to operational leaders through creating and articulating a vision, and implementing systems in partnership with the business. The leader must be comfortable working in a collaborative, values-driven environment.Education: Strong academic background. Bachelor's degree and MBA (or other advanced degree) required.Specific requirements include: Demonstrated wide range of experience, skills, and capability. Global experience, preferably time living and working overseas, a plus. Strong influencing and negotiation skills; a team player with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across lines of senior management and other staff as appropriate.

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, manage multiple priorities and make ongoing decisions.
Strong process management and process documentation skills; ability to plan for “critical path”, including ability to structure back from end products/desired analytic outputs to identify necessary data requests in timely fashion.
Strong project management experience a plus.

High levels of energy and resiliency, with a willingness to travel on a regular basis.
