Senior Director Sales (Foodservice)
SUMMARY: As a contributing team member, the Senior Director of Operator Sales (Pull) will report directly into the VP Food Service Distribution Sales. The position will have Directors of Sales (DOS's) and other Sales Account Mangers (SAM's) reporting directly and indirectly to them. This position will ensure focus on the execution of our strategies at the Tier 3, 4, Non-Commercial and LLO Operator level. This position is National in scope. This person will be accountable fordirecting strategy and assisting the DOS Team in ensuring our brands of product are being sold/represented at the operator level. This position is expected to work cross functionally with various business units, trade teams, sales development and marketing teams in order to bring our Branded Operator Strategy to life at a menu level. This position will have specific operator volume targets, mix targets, close rate targets as well as managing price and spend metrics within budget. Given the fact this position is National in scope, the ability to clearly communicate specific direction, prioritize tasks, work across various cross functional touch points and manage multiple customer relationships will be criticalto our success.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:External – Develop and nurture professional relationships with targeted – strategic FS operator customers within specific markets, as well as on a national basis. This position will also be required to manage, train and assist the broker in each market area to ensure the right customer is being called on by the right sales associate with no duplication of effort. Internal – Must have a firm understanding of our Branded Operator Strategy and be able to clearly articulate what is needed from each cross functional area in order to gain success against stated goals. Collaborate and work directly with the DOS's on both the “Push and Pull” side to ensure overallgoals are met. Must be able to clearly understand and articulate the big picture and prioritize the daily/weekly/monthly tasks thus resulting in an overall Operator Team that knows what to do and how to do it. This would also include the broker as well. Key measurables include but are not limited to: Volume plan by business unit/category; Mix of product sales plan; Number of sales calls; Close ratios; Tracking of branded vs private label sales; Advantage Program adherence orother program utilization; Broker training and direction; Management of T&E budget and other controllable spend metrics; Price adherence; Proper utilization of R&O tool; Other MiscellaneousQUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Minimum 10 years outside sales experience (Food Service, Food Service Manufacturing, Distributor Sales, Operator Sales)Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSpecial Skills: Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, understanding of motivational leadership skills, conflict resolution skills and must work well in a TEAM environment Computer Skills:Experience with Microsoft Office productsTravel: 30%To view a full job description and submit your resume for consideration, click APPLY TO THIS POSITION below and follow the prompts.Apply for this job.
