Senior Environmental Fate Scientist – #01SZ7
We are seeking highly motivated Sr. Environmental Fate Scientists for current and future roles. These positions are located in St. Louis, MO and support global regulatory approvals and product stewardship efforts for a global crop protection portfolio. A strong background in either environmental fate and transport processes or environmental chemistry is desired. Key Responsibilities: Conducting environmental exposure regulatory studies such as soil metabolism (aerobic and anaerobic), water-sediment metabolism (aerobic and anaerobic), and abiotic studies (e.g., hydrolysis and photolysis) Providing technical resources and expertise to groups within our company that manage regulatory and product stewardship needs for crop protection and biotechnology products Interacting with the scientific community through attendance at meetings and conferences and publication in peer-reviewed scientific literature Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience: Minimum of a Master???s Degree (or higher) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Chemistry, Hydrogeology, Soil Science, Soil Physics, Environmental or Agricultural Engineering, or a related field of study Experience and knowledge in the design, conduct, interpretation and reporting of studies to determine the environmental fate of crop protection products Experience with analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, RAD flow detectors, LSC, MS) and the handling of radioactive material Proficiency in kinetic interpretation of field and laboratory studies focused on chemical fate and transport Strong mathematical skills Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Agility to work on multiple projects and flexibility to meet business objectives Desired Skills/Experience: Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences or Environmental ChemistryFive or more years of relevant experience in a field related to environmental sciencesWorking knowledge of global regulatory processes and guidelines for crop protection chemicalsExperience working under EPA and/or OECD Good Laboratory Practices regulations Ability to work effectively within a dynamic, cross-functional, multidisciplinary organization Ability to lead a team of technicians to conduct environmental fate studies Track record of providing innovative solutions to challenging and complex analytical problems Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
