The Maschhoffs, the largest family-owned hog production network in North America, is looking for a Senior Farm Manager based in Carlyle, IL.?This role is accompanied by competitve compensation and a performance incentive program is included!?Job Overview:This role leads a team of Farm Managers and animals caretakers with accountability for the financial and biological performance of a BTW Farm or Farms.? The position establishes team excellence, operational efficiency and asset management while leading change innovation and continuous improvement.? This role expands the capability and capacity directly of the Farm Managers and indirectly of the animal caretakers through effective hiring, staffing, and fostering a culture of personal leadership, development of leadership, technical and animal management competencies and empowering all employees to exercise business judgment.?Typical Duties of a Senior Farm Manager include:Responsible for the full Profit and Loss (P&L) of a multi-million dollar asset base consisting of more than 10,000 mated sows.Establish and exhibit the standard for personal development as well as oversee the leadership and technical skill development of the full team of 30 or more employees.Lead the development of annual operating goals, human resource needs and Farm Business Plans.Oversee the implementation of all BTW standard operating procedures, participate in the ongoing improvement of current and future SOP?s and lead the adoption of innovative strategies and environmental stewardship.Monitor, review, and analyze biological and financial performance metrics and when necessary ensure execution of root cause analysis and countermeasure execution to restore performance to acceptable levels.Oversee Human Capital Management including hiring, staffing, On-Boarding, training and terminations in alignment with company policies and establishing a culture of positive reinforcement.Promote safe work habits, a safe work environment, and ensure reporting of all work related injuries and near miss situations.Oversee the acquisition and use of all farm required resources; air, feed, water, labor, animals, Vet/Meds, supplies, and fuel.Ensure the implementation of individual pig care and facility use practices to maintain the health and well-being of all animals including owning, monitoring, and directing all practices that promote Bio-Security in coordination with Health Service recommendations.Responsible for partnering with Farm Managers and Project Managers to identify all major capital repairs, routine repairs, and maintain the preventative maintenance program to achieve the best cost approach for all farm maintenance projects and programs.?Minimum QualificationsEducationHigh School diploma required??? BS in Animal Science, Agriculture, Economics or related field preferred.?Experience10 years of management experience required5 years of swine farm management required?Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of:???
