Senior Manager of Corporate Communications

For 125 years, feed and food customers have been counting on Scoular people to create safe and reliable supply chain solutions for end-users and suppliers of grain, feed ingredients, and food ingredients around the globe.The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications plays a leading role in The Scoular Company’s (“Scoular”) Brand Marketing & Corporate Communications (“BMCC”) function, leading and overseeing all internal and external corporate communications for Scoular, including its public relations work. The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications will report to the Director of Brand Marketing and Corporate Communications, who is the leader the team responsible for all efforts tied to the company’s brand, marketing, and advertising initiatives, as well as development and management of its internal and external communications work. The BMCC Team supports the work of Scoular’s three operations divisions (North American Grain and Oilseeds, Specialty Food & Feed, and International Products), Scoular’s services leaders (Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Business Development, and Information Technology), and the work of Scoular’s philanthropic foundation. Job Responsibilities Collaborates closely with Scoular’s leadership to develop and deploy sophisticated and impactful communications strategies across operations and services groups, as well as externally to support and grow Scoular’s brandLead, develop, and deliver all internal and external communications work for the company, using a variety of methods, channels, and technologies consistent with best-in-class practices and Scoular’s cultureDevelop a perspective and strategy on customer communications, in partnership with brand partnersPartner with the company’s CEO to develop high-impact CEO communications, town hall content, and other communication initiativesProvide support and counsel to business and service leaders on their communication strategies and content, including coaching to leaders based on developed understanding and knowledge of the company’s business operations and cultureCreate, develop, and foster a brand and voice for the company’s communications, both internal and external, in partnership with the BMCC’s brand leaderDevelop and execute on, in partnership with leadership, industry and business-to-business communication campaigns, including to customers, to enable and grow Scoular’s brand in the marketplaceCreate communication programs to support the company’s mission, vision, and values work, as well as its annual strategic planning processDevelop and deploy a social media strategy for the company and its business unitsIn partnership with the company’s human resources and brand experts, support work tied to further developing Scoular’s employment brandIdentify, recommend, and implement technology tools to drive impactful communication, both internal and externalCollaborate and partner with other team members on the BMCC team to ensure alignment between communications and brand strategies, as well as brand standardsManage and deploy content for company’s future intranet, in partnership with a cross-functional teamContemporize the company’s and corporate communications approach and practices, leveraging understanding of modern practices and new technologiesDevelop, oversee, and execute on the company’s public relations activities, including writing/approving press releases, drafting messaging documents, and engaging in media outreach activitiesConduct regular and ongoing correspondence and relationship-building efforts with influencers in the industry and media/social mediaDevelop and manage workflow processes for communications initiativesAdditional responsibilities as assigned / neededMinimum Qualifications Excellent communication skills (written and oral)8-10 or more years prior experience in the following areas: corporate communications, external communications, and public relationsAttention to detailHigh agility and flexibilityDeep experience developing communications plans for initiatives and programsExcellent messaging and story development skillsDeep experience developing enterprise-wide internal and external communications strategiesProven ability to engage externally, with the ability to build relationships with strategic vendors, subject matter expert, and thought leadersAbility to develop strong relationships with team, leaders, customers, and outside vendorsAbility to collaborate with operations and functional partners, and work on cross-functional teamsKnowledge and expertise in the unique nuances and external communication channels for business-to-business focused operationsAbility to manage multiple and time-sensitive projectsDemonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, to provide clear direction, and to hold people accountableChange management skills and experienceCustomer service orientation and skilled collaboratorCreative problem-solverAbility to travel as neededFour-year college degree, Graduate degree in relevant specialty preferredPreferred Qualifications Agricultural and/or commodities industry experienceInternational marketing experienceThe Scoular Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer *JVSkills:See job descriptionApply for this job.
