Senior Manager Value Improvement
SUMMARY: The Sr. Manager, Value Improvement will strategically lead & coordinate and direct lean improvement across our business. Responsible for cost effective product design, effective problem-solving techniques, the design and management of extended value stream improvement initiatives, training and coaching of personnel in all of the above, and advising the senior category leadership on the nature and progress of network wide improvement activities. This role will require travel up to 20%. This person will play a key role in the development and successful delivery of performance management processes (KPI's, dashboard reviews) of the BU and category pillar(s). The Sr. Manager in VI will interact frequentlywith value directors, directors of category management, R&D, operations, sales, and others. This person will be responsible for leading large cross-functional teams and projects that have impact across multiple BU pillars. This role will require travel up to 20%. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Direct management of VI platforms assigned. This includes setting direction, managing and measuring performance metrics, establishing and achieving an agreed upon timeline. Diagnose the value stream to expose maximum potential value over the strategic plan. Develop and deliver a direct lean optimization target, creating a sustainable pipeline of optimization opportunities for their assigned pillar and executing optimization platform initiatives. Work with constituents/customers to design work standards and systems, and other elements of superior business practices, to aid in improvement and best practice sharing throughout the value stream/across value streams. Develop and implement solutions based on Lean fundamentals and transformation principles, tools and techniques including. Stretch the organization by creating a learning environment/culture, problem solving, envisioning the future state condition, and leading towards fulfillment. Leads cross-functional projects by motivating teams and holding them accountable to deliver timelines, follow the stage gate process. Train and coach personnel in these and other capabilities. Proficient at leading cross-functional teams through long-term strategic projects. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to lead teams to high levels of success. This includes the ability to influence others, interact with Sr. Leadership, manage performance, coach and develop staff. Works with packaging vendors, raw material vendors and potentially customers to to design new materials that fit a more efficient process. Demonstrate great attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with continually changing priorities.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor's degree required in Business, Science Fields or equivalentExperience: 7+ years functional process improvement experience. Experience in a consumer packaged goods company is desirable, food experience most preferable. 5+ years' experience implementing change using Continuous Improvement fundamentals.Special Skills: Experience leading change, and effectively managing teams to reach goals.
