Senior Paralegal – Real Estate
CHS is seeking an experienced Senior Real Estate Paralegal to join its in-house legal team.
We are searching for an individual who can work independently but collaboratively in a fast-paced and collegial team environment. This position will primarily support the CHS Real Estate Law Function, efficiently and effectively performing a wide variety of paralegal duties, working independently or with/at the direction of the business clients and applicable legal staff.
You must have Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate confidently and effectively with different audiences, have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize requests.
You must be able to maintain confidentiality and be able to deliver high-quality work and product to internal and external customers and be able to utilize your strong use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.You will:Independently facilitate real estate and non-real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, leases and mergers. Order and examine title reports, abstracts and surveys.Prepare necessary title objection letters, contracts, leases, deed, merger documents, settlement statements and other state-specific closing documents.Communicate professionally with sellers, title companies, surveyors and landlords. Coordinate all facets of the transaction from initiation of project through closing.Draft, review, analyze, and assist in negotiation of contracts, including customer and vendor contacts.Understand, interpret and explain contractual terms, conditions, rights and obligations to business staff.Assist with development of form/template agreements and standard provisions; facilitate management and use of such forms and provisions.Develop and ensure consistent application of contract review procedures.Conduct complex, multi-state, regulatory and statutory legal research to identify appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles and other materials that may be relevant to a particular issue or question. After analyzing and organizing the research data, provide an in-depth written analysis of the research findings.Assist, as needed, with mergers and acquisitions, including organization of due diligence, document preparation, and coordination of closings.Partner in developing and implementing business-specific training materials and programs.Support all lifecycle activities related to the formation/acquisition, registration, ongoing maintenance and disposition of new and existing, domestic and international legal entities (corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships).Maintain and organize legal records, files and correspondence using applicable systems.As necessary, coordinate with and assist internal and outside counsel in effectively managing legal matters.Perform other duties as assigned.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Basic Qualifications:Associate degree and/or Paralegal/Legal Assistant Certificate from an accredited program5 plus years? experience as a real estate paralegal in a law firm and/or law department.Previous experience drafting and analyzing contracts and other legal documents.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degreePrevious experience in contract law/contract administration.
