In addition, Zoetis will never ask candidates to make any type of personal financial investment related to gaining employment with Zoetis.The Biomarker Science group within Global Therapeutics Research seeks an experienced biomarker scientist or clinician to identify and develop biomarkers that can support portfolio progression and provide diagnostic value. The disease focus will be dermatology and immune dysfunction. The successful candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience working in an immunology or biomarker discovery laboratory, clinical laboratory setting, or a veterinary clinic treating patients. The individual should have experience with various biomarker platforms (flow cytometry, immunoassays, transcriptomic analysis), a strong understanding of dermatopathology in the veterinary medicine, and strong analysis skills (multivariate approaches). The candidate should also have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: * Define and build appropriate biomarker strategies to support portfolio progression and potential product commercialization. * Work closely with clinical staff to design proper plans to avoid pre-analytical artifacts during the collection and storage of biomarkers. * Work closely with modeling staff to design appropriate studies to build mechanistic and semi-mechanistic models relating compound effects to relevant biomarkers and outcomes. * Work closely with bioinformatics to identify potential genes and pathways of interest. * Collaborate with laboratory assay group to design study sampling analytical plans to optimize biomarker strategy * Present results to scientific teams and management. * Work closely with regulatory staff to develop strategies for applying the biomarker qualification process into animal health development. * Collaborate with diagnostic scientists to develop predictive biomarkers and disease state diagnostics. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* Educational background: PhD (Immunology, cell and molecular biology, pathology, or related field), DVM, or BS/MS with appropriate experience.* Strong analytical experience in immune characterization.* Self-starter, able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision* Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills* Computer skills required: Microsoft Word, JMP, Spotfire, Excel, OutlookApply for this job.
