We currently have a position available at our BUSINESS facility in Simplot Headquarters – Boise, ID.
Idaho SUMMARYDrives the strategic direction within assigned categories. Develops and executes cross-functional category marketing plans. Identifies opportunities for growth, cost savings and considers impacts across the NAFG. The senior marketing manager leads the organization in delivering volume and profit objectives for multiple assigned categories by taking a holistic look approach to the business. The position works closely with Simplot indirect/direct Sales teams as well as the R&D and Manufacturing/Ops teams. Works independently and is self-directed. Can articulate priorities to senior management. This is an advanced position that may not be achieved by all marketing managers. Impact to P&L will be with larger categories for example, but not limited to: typically be greater than 15 million dollars (vgm). Typically more than 2 brands. RESPONSIBILITIES* Act as coach and mentor to Marketing Managers as requested by Supervisor or Senior Director of Foodservice Marketing. * Lead development of strategy & execution of product line optimization. Encompasses brand consolidation, line extensions, SKU rationalization, product improvements, & strategic cost-cutting where appropriate. The plans impact NAFG s manufacturing footprint & therefore require close collaboration with sales, demand planning, R&D, manufacturing, & supply chain. Typically manages 2+ categories/sub categories. At a min., works directly with 2+ Manufacturing facilitaties, products managed will typically be 50+ SKUs, & brands responsible for will typically be 3+ including distributor label. * Work closely with outside service providers such as advertising agency, research providers and fulfillment companies to develop strong understanding of strategic direction of market and category dynamics and communicate key insights to the organization. * Manage assigned annual marketing budget for maximum return on investment. * Conducts quarterly market visits with Sales/Sales Agents to drive alignment, understand the customer and validate marketing program effectiveness. * Acts as a marketing resource for Marketing Director(s), Senior Director and/or FLT members.
REQUIREMENTSEducation:* Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or universityOther information:8 plus years related experience and/or training (Food Service Marketing preferred). Demonstrates extensive knowledge of marketing principles and business acumen. Has comprehensive knowledge of the foodservice industry and market research. Skills: Ability to understand P&L financials and understand and analyze financial data. Ability to manage multiple priorities and large projects. Strong interpersonal and written skills. Strong project management skills. Distinguishing Features: Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally in difficult situations and drive strategic marketing.
