Senior Research Associate, Output Traits Discovery
DescriptionOutput Traits Discovery at Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Associate (SRA) in Johnston, IA. The primary role of the position will be to identify leads and characterize gene editing variants. The SRA will participate in all phases of execution (prioritization, planning, data collection, data analysis and reporting) of experiments designed to meet research objectives of the group.
Work in a team focused on the discovery, characterization and
optimization of gene leads for output traits;Conduct experiments utilizing a model plant system to evaluate output trait leads;Perform nucleic acid analysis, including genotyping and transcript quantification;Perform sequence analysis, cloning, vector construction and transformation;Perform plant phenotyping in controlled environments and conduct data analysis;Document research and report results and conclusions in written and/or oral format; andImplement and monitor safe working practices. QualificationsMS degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Plant Science, or related field or BS degree in related field with 5 years relevant laboratory experience.Applicants should have strong analytical skills, can conduct multiple projects simultaneously, and have proficiency in Arabidopsis molecular genetics. The ideal candidate also will have experience in composition analysis and have knowledge on plant metabolism. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, capable of working independently or as part of a group, and competent in written and oral reporting.
