Senior Residue Analytical Chemist* – #01SZ4
We are seeking a highly talented Senior Residue Analytical Chemist to support new and existing product registrations and product stewardship for our companys global agricultural chemical portfolio. This role will focus on developing methods and conducting pesticide residue analysis in various matrices (soil, water, plant, and animal), processing samples for mass spectral analysis, operating liquid chromatography or gas chromatography mass spectrometers, and trouble-shooting technical issues.Key Responsibilities: Analyzing residue samples via LC or GC MS/MS from various matrices (e.g., plant, animal, soil, water, and air)Proactively troubleshooting technical issues pertaining to methods, instrumentation and equipmentDeveloping and validating quantitative analytical methods, conducting and enabling sample preparation and analysisInterpreting data, reporting and summarizingTransferring analytical methods to internal and external research organizations Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience: Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a related field of studyMinimum of two or more years of experience conducting quantitative analytical residue analysis of environmental and/or biological samplesExperience in quantitative analytical method development with an emphasis on liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry-based techniquesStrong chromatographic and separation science skill setsDemonstrated effectiveness with continuous/process improvementStrong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skillsAgility to work on and balance multiple projects and adjust to deliver the required business objectivesSelf-motivated and attention to detailStrong laboratory documentation skills Desired Skills/Experience: Agricultural industrial experience conducting quantitative analytical residue analysisExperience conducting residue analytical studies in a regulated environment (GxP)Development of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-based methods and troubleshooting experience Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsantos leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayers leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
