The Global Biologics Research group designs and develops novel biological products to address economically impactful diseases or conditions in livestock and companion animals. The Senior Scientist – Principal Scientist position will play an essential role in Zoetis project teams developing novel vaccines for veterinary medicine. The Senior Scientist – Principal Scientist will work with autonomy and on multi-disciplinary project teams. To be successful, the candidate will have advanced knowledge in vaccinology and experienced with vaccine registration requirements. The candidate will provide leadership in the laboratory candidate development and through the clinical evaluation by methods acceptable to Regulatory Agencies for the registration of poultry vaccines.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES* Apply advanced knowledge of biological, analytical, microbiological, and molecular biology science in the design and execution of experiments to advance projects.* Serve as a technical expert to project teams with an expectation toward overall project team leadership.* Serve as study director or principal investigator for in vivo clinical trials* Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to prosecute studies and projects in line with the strategic direction of the team* Present results to scientific teams, management and regulatory agencies* Write sections of regulatory submissions, respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and maintain knowledge of regulatory guidance documents* Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs to gain concurrence for protocol approval and report/data submission with the Center for Veterinary Biologics (CVB), in addition to international regulatory agencies (e.g., EU etc).* Mentor other scientistsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum Experience:MSc/PhD in biology, immunology, vaccinology, microbiology, or related fields with 4-7 years” experience in the industry in vaccine development. Demonstrated ability to design, analyze and interpret vaccine clinical study resultsPreferred Experience:Experience in the fields of cell culture, virus/bacteria propagation, molecular biology, PCR, and genome mutagenesis.Full time/Regular/ColleagueApply for this job.
