Senior Tax Analyst
Position PurposeThe Tax & Customs function employs approximately 220 professionals around the world. Approximately 80 tax professionals work at Cargill s headquarters in Wayzata, Minnesota. Cargill Tax & Customs seeks a motivated individual to become part of an engaged, high-performing team committed to contributing value.The Senior Tax Analyst works within the Domestic Income Tax team at Cargill s headquarters in Wayzata, Minnesota to complete various federal, state income and franchise tax compliance tasks throughout the United States.Principal Accountabilities Prepare/review federal and state income & state franchise tax returns, quarterly estimates & supporting work papersResearch tax positions and ASC 740 issues Maintain and reconcile tax general ledger accountsAssist with federal and state tax audit and responsesAssist in the preparation and review of income tax account reconciliationsPrepare, calculate and document various portions of the current and deferred tax provision, effective tax rates (ETR) Create and analyze electronic work papers and information gathering questionnairesAssist tax department with written documentation of tax policies and proceduresThis position is posted internally as well as externallySkills:Required: Bachelor s Degree in Accounting 2+ years of federal tax experience in corporate environment or accounting firmAbility to identify tax issues, knowledge of applicable tax lawsStrong analytical, research, critical thinking, and decision making skillsExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels internally and externallyProven skills to be an active, contributing member of work teamsAbility to work well independently and as a member of a team with little supervisionProficiency with tax software (CorpTax preferred)Ability to adhere to inflexible deadlines for tax reportingExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner, ensuring compliance requirements are consistently metPreferred:Certified public accountant designation/licenseExperience with US GAAP ASC740 accounting Proficiency with CorpTaxProven ability to work with and manage large amounts of dataApply for this job.
