Senior Technologist

DuPont Nutrition & Health is seeking an experienced analytical scientist for the role of Sr. Research Technologist.  In this role, you will be responsible for performing standard analytical tests on food ingredients.  Prior experience in the field of food science is not required, but you should be proficient with basic laboratory instrumentation, such as automated pipetors, pH meters, and balances.  You should also be able to work independently to complete assigned tasks, including data analysis and report writing.  Occasionally, you may be called upon to develop new analytical methods to support our Product Development efforts. This role will also support our Spectroscopy function.  Thus, experience with common methodology in this area is highly desired.  DuPont is an Equal Opportunity EmployerDuPont is an e-Verify Employer *LI-AB1Qualifications:Required:At least 3 years of experience as a bench scientist working in a research environment.Basic laboratory skills, including the ability to accurately prepare working reagents for analytical testing.Demonstrated ability to operate basic laboratory equipment, including pH meters, balances, automated pipetors, UV-Vis spectrometers, moisture analyzers, particle size analyzers, and the like.Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks, and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Desired:Experience/familiarity with Foss and/or Q-Interline Near Infrared spectrometersSample analysis using a number of infrared techniques, including FTIR, FT-Raman, FTIR-ATR/Transmission, FT-NIR, NIR, and CD spectropolarimetryExperience with chemometric analysis software (e.g., Foss Winisi, Thermo-Grams, and/or Thermo TQ) for the purposes of compiling and organizing data, and the creation of prediction modelsExperience supporting manufacturing facilities through training of personnel in IR procedures, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and maintaining compliance with SOPs
