SHE Consultant

DuPont is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a Safety, Health and Environmental Consultant at the Dupont Plant located in Pryor Oklahoma. This position requires a combination of regulatory knowledge, technical expertise, and program leadership skills.This position provides Safety, Health and/or Environmental expertise to line management.  Primary focus will be in occupational health and ergonomics, but may also include responsibilities in workplace safety, contractor safety, process safety, fire protection, distribution safety and environmental.  The SHE Consultant works with site personnel and other EH&S resources to ensure site policies, procedures, and practices are in place and effective in eliminating injuries/illnesses, incidents, and to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and corporate standards.The position requires good communication skills to keep appropriate people informed and requires teamwork skills to build collaboration and good solutions to problems. The role interacts with all levels of plant personnel regarding safety, health and environmental issues to ensure compliance with government regulations and corporate standards.  Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:Conducts safety related testing (plant noise surveys, exposure monitoring, equipment ventilation checks, IAQ monitoring, etc) to ensure continued compliance with requirementsParticipates and resources job safety analysis of work areas, identifying safety and health issues with recommendations to ensure safe, healthy work conditions for employees and to manage exposure to S&OH risks.Evaluates and recommends appropriate PPE to prevent exposure to occupational hazardsDevelops and implements improvements to safety systems to ensure compliance with requirements Participates on and leads on-site EH&S committeesParticipates on and leads 1st Party EH&S audits.  Prepares for and manages 2nd Party EH&S audits of the Pryor SiteParticipates in front-end loading and pre-job planning of projects to advise site on relevant safety and health issuesTrains and educates site personnel on EH&S-related issues, documenting and maintaining required training records Resources, or facilitates with line management, the investigations of occupational injuries, illnesses and incidents to determine key factors and learnings of each incident and recommend improvements to prevent recurrenceProvides resourcing for injury, illness classifications and recordingWorks with existing systems for report writing and trend analysisGathers and communicates metrics and maintains systems to track necessary data for internal safety, health and environmental reportingWorks with internal safety and health personnel for self-development and to continuously improve and enhance technical knowledge base and skillsQualifications: QualificationsBachelor?s Degree and/or equivalent experience in an Occupational Safety or affiliated discipline. A minimum of 3 years safety experience preferredWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational safety principles Excellent organizational and self-management skills; demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision, effectively managing multiple and changing priorities to meet deadlines and business needsStrong critical thinking/problem solving capabilities; able to draw from experience, knowledge of technical learnings and from peer resources to provide professional decisions and recommendations to line management and other site employeesStrong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively, professionally and respectfully in a team-based environment to involve peers, customers, line management and technical competency experts, promote respectful interaction with others and build professional relationships Robust influence management and conflict resolution skills; demonstrated ability to influence others in support of organizational goals as well as possessing the ability to obtain agreement in an environment of mixed and conflicting needsExcellent communication skills; demonstrated effective oral presentation, report writing, and other writing skills  Computer and technical literacy; demonstrated skill in operation of office and database computer software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel).Active learner; demonstrated ability and interest in maintaining and renewing technical and regulatory expertise
