The Des Moines, IA Plant of Helena Industries, a chemical toll manufacturing company, has an immediate opening for a Safety, Health, & Environmental Regulatory Manager. Job Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Safety, Engineering, Risk Management, Business Management, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university and five years related work experience including two years supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.2. Excellent Computer skills-Microsoft excel, Word required; Oracle preferred3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent training and organizational skills4. Thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance issues including OSHA and Industrial Hygiene testing. 5. Must be capable of passing an OSHA respirator physical.6. Ability to stand for long periods of time in extreme hot or cold temperatures.7. Must be available to work rotating shifts as scheduled. Job Responsibilities: 1. Establishes and enforces compliance of facility policies and procedures pertaining to safety, health and environmental matters by developing, updating, and managing distribution, communication, and training all employees on the safety, health, environmental, and regulatory programs.2. Works directly with customers on all safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Conducts internal safety audits and coordinates all safety, environmental, or regulatory audits with external agencies or customers. Performs any necessary environmental sampling or monitoring.3. Reviews / Submits all regulatory reports to Federal and State agencies and serves as the facility contact for regulatory inspectors from local, State, and Federal agencies meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements.4. Conducts or oversees new hire orientation including safety training for both HII and temporary employees. Lead investigations for near miss investigations and participate in meetings with the Risk Assessment Team (RAT) for all safety, insurance reviews.5. Coordinates and conducts monthly safety meetings. Review and maintain all safety programs and safety training records, ensuring that the OSHA hours are recorded from plant time keeping systems (Kronos).6. Performs plant safety analysis on operations and statistical analysis on plant safety history, making recommendations to management for improvement.Resumes submitted without salary requirements will not be considered.
