Shift Supervisor – 1901623 – Surfactants Unit – Geismar, LAThis position is a member of the Daily Operating Team (DOT) and is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and technical assistance to whom directly operate the cluster's operating units. This role is responsible to ensure safe and efficient operation in meeting the daily operational plan objectives for the business. This requires in-depth involvement through both written and verbal communications so that the DOT operates the units in safe, consistent, and cost effective manner. The Shift Supervisor is a visible participant in the coordination and supervision of operator activities within the cluster under the direction of the Production Supervisor.Provides daily support to operators in performance of their own duties.Coordinates, communicates, and monitors daily operations activities within the shift, and provides daily operating instructions, and provides conflict management as required.Troubleshoots operational problems and safety issues.Ensures consistency and accountability on shift regarding discipline, procedures, and grievances, including resolution of step 1 grievances.Seeks compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promotes a safe working environment, and ensures accountability of shift personnel for safety performance.Enters and Facilitates accident report investigations and action item follow-up, coordinates acceptance of new installations, and participates in process hazard analyses (PHA's).Produce and package products within approved CGMP and Non-CGMP specificationsMaintains standards for CGMP batch record entry and reviews, SAP production processing(posting production) and AE.net integrity.Ensure Operators complete MOC training.Maintains daily alignment with the cluster's maintenance coordinator regarding work priorities and schedule, and ensures continuity of on-going work between shifts by communicating status with operations personnel at shift turnover(ELOG, TIER I) and recommending appropriate actions. Enters work notifications as necessaryConsults and works with operations engineers, technology team, and TES personnel in resolving operational problems, modifications, improvements, and optimizations.Ensures that content of operating instructions and parameters are accurate/ current by completing field verifications.Participates as needed in root cause failure analyses and in corrective actions for bad actors.Assures compliance with standard production trends and conformance with CGMP's.Monitors performance of LIMS/PIMS KPI's, plant yields, product quality, and waste generation.Trains and coaches shift personnel on responding proper response to analytical results, assists on follows up on investigating non-conformances, and provides assistance during customer audits/visits.Implements the High Performance Organization within the shift operators by training, coaching, setting goals and objectives, evaluating performance, and planning personnel successions. Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency5+ years of operational and/or maintenance experiencePreferred Qualifications:2+ years of Supervisory experience preferred. CGMP experience preferred. Basic understanding of batch operations and overall plant manufacturing processes, including operational procedures, operator training requirements, and be knowledgeable in the BASF/PACE Labor Agreement. Requires familiarity with BASF environmental, safety, and health standards procedures and policies, as well as those for the site and the plants within the assigned cluster. Must have Understanding of mechanical and instrument equipment and their maintenance, maintenance programs, work processes (MPI, etc.), and best practices.Have technical competencies of process knowledge, knowledge of production capabilities, process unit ratios/yields, troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, general computer skills, user knowledge of SAP production and maintenance functions, and user knowledge of AE.netHave generic competencies of analytical thinking, communication and interpersonal understanding, entrepreneurial acting/initiative, coaching, team leadership/collaboration, work management, and conflict management. This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
