Position Summary:The Shipping and Receiving Superintendent has overall responsibility for the inbound and outbound material flow of the facility, including soybeans, corn germ, bean meal, pellets, germ meal as well as oversight for the meal grinding and pelleting areas.
This position is extensively involved in quality control, feed safety, environmental compliance and the plant?s evolving maintenance program.
Strong management skills will be required to manage personnel, set and drive department priorities, and uphold the highest safety standards.
Job Responsibilities: Proactively work to ensure that all ADM employees, visitors, vendors and contractors understand and comply with the ADM safety policies and proceduresSupport and engage in Performance Excellence activities in the facilityActively participate and direct the daily operations of the elevator, meal grind, pelleting, and shipping operationsOversee rail operations and ensure consistent and unfailing compliance to safe rail operating proceduresSupport the departments in the areas of safety and quality, including audit complianceOversee the maintenance of the area equipment to function reliablyIdentify process improvements and manage capital and reliability projects within the areasResponsible for people management and development including retention, recruiting and team engagementIdentify training opportunities or needs, and facilitates training sessions for personnel.Communicate daily opportunities and concerns with plant management and the commercial group Take an active role in managing the team and coaching employees to reach their fullest potential by providing feedback in a manner that is effective, consistent and fair.
