Site Manager

Position: Multiplication Site Manager                               Location: Missouri        Objective: Implementation of gilt selection and market sales.  Maximize production, safety, efficiencies and profitability.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManagement and participation of farm productionManage and train employees to follow all production protocols and proceduresComplete policing routine to monitor protocols, and monitor production and efficienciesEnsure appropriate, accurate inventory management of swine and suppliesMonitor feed inventory and order when necessaryParticipate with Human Resources in recruiting, interviewing and retaining site employees Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels of farm involvementUtilize task sheets and time frames to maintain an organized workdayProvide consistent customer communication for both gilt deliveries, pigs received and veterinarian recommendations Train employees on financial aspects of the site and how their personal performance affects the financial outcome of the System Ensure farm paperwork is completed accurately and on timeHR paperwork must be completed on time to ensure accuracy in payroll and that the employee files are updated. It includes, but is not limited to new hire paperwork, absentee forms, evaluations, disciplinary forms, training forms and payroll approval reportsEnsure completion of all work related injury paperwork and participate as necessary in accident investigations and corrective actionsEnsure employees are properly trained on how to complete paperwork in their respective areas of work. Submit production records and corrections on time for Meta Farms production data Send in production data (inventory, treatments) in on a weekly basis for Meta Farms   Bio-SecurityTrain and manage staff to adhere to all bio-security protocolsTake appropriate measures to ensure bio-security audit deficiencies are corrected and brought into compliance in a timely manner Animal WelfareTrain and manage staff to adhere to all animal welfare and PQA guidelinesParticipate as requested in animal welfare audits and ensure any recommended corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner Safe Working EnvironmentFollow all safety procedures and guidelinesEnsure all safety equipment is in place and utilizedTrain all employees in accident prevention for the areas they work inHold monthly safety meetings with employeesMaintain up-to-date safety sign off sheets Ventilation ControlsMonitor and ensure entire ventilation system is in good working orderRegularly monitor the environment to achieve optimum comfort for the animalsTrain designated employees to monitor ventilation system in the Site Manager’s absence Facility MaintenanceThe facility must be maintained and well keptTrain and direct staff to complete routine maintenance on a daily basisCommunicate non-routine repairs to the maintenance departmentTrain and direct staff to keep both interior and exterior of the unit clean and organized POSITION SPECIFICATIONSEducation: 4 Year Degree preferred or equivalent in experience           Experience: Past pig/livestock experience is a plus Training:Safety Orientation VideoAnnual Safety TrainingSexual Harassment Orientation Video Work Environment:     Agricultural swine environment in rural areaNoise levels that require hearing protection in some areasGestation, farrowing, and small swine care processes Physical Requirements:    Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per dayFrequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneelingFrequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pullFrequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 poundsOccasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to moveOccasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as neededAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths Additional Requirements:        Must live no farther than 30 minutes driving distance from farm being managedMust be able to work every third weekendMust have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to get to work and attend meetings
