SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is to drive the strategic direction for commercialization, launch and sales of Simplots technological solutions; assessing market opportunities for new agronomic practices, equipment, hardware, software, data, and products. As a key team member, instill appropriate methodologies, techniques and practices; overseeing technical support for the implementation of existing technologies, and for the assessment, testing and validation of new agricultural technologies. Lead successful launches, licensing or commercialization of assigned technology. Direct all development from strategy, concept, consumer attributes, market segments, and commercialization of assigned projects and technologies. Interacts with a larger number of key personnel i.e., Area Managers, Market Managers, Crop Advisors, Precision Ag Specialists, and external partners: university researchers, equipment manufacturers, growers, supporting the business to make accurate decisions and recommendations for product advancement, utilization, commercialization and sales. Lead technical support and direction for the agronomic integration of company supported enterprise software solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES* Drive Simplot SmartFarm business growth by identifying and developing new and existing technologies to commercialize and sell by Simplot Grower Solutions over multiple SGS areas.* Lead, manage and communicate strategic direction of SmartFarm programs and technological development at the field level, insuring awareness, support and profitability for the company and customers. Responsible for providing the technology and precision ag knowledge and experience for the more complex SmartFarm offering within the multiple SGS areas.* Working with the Director, position develops and executes integrated Marketing Plans to drive the sales of current offerings and for the technologies developed and discovered. This position will be responsible for larger sales volume of SmartFarm products and services. REQUIREMENTSEducation:* Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or universityOther information:5 – 7 years related experience and/or training. Must have strong working knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), precision agriculture, soil fertility, plant nutrition, pest management, irrigation managements. Ability to assimilate information from disparate sources and integrate that into a strategy and executional tactics is critical. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others effectively. Able to develop strong relationships externally and internally. Able to sell ideas and a project vision. Analytical ability to dive into data to construct recommendations and decisions about a specific products and technologies on a strategic level. Extensive knowledge of SmartFarm products and services, including the complex SmartFarm offerings within the multiple SGS areas. Skills: Supervisory experience and skills preferred. Excellent communication skills, formal presentation skills, ability to make site-specific input recommendations, ability to display work in writing and statistics, ability to interpret research data and to make reasonable recommendations. Conduct independent research. Capable of managing multiple priorities at once. In addition, this position requires demonstration of technical learning, functional technical skills, action-oriented skills, and integrity and trust.Must be able to influence a large customer base to drive increased sales in the SGS areas. Secondary language is desirable. Additional Comments: Bachelor of Science Degree, preferably in agronomy or similar (i.e. plant, crop, soil, or weed science degrees). Certificates: Certified Crop Advisor.
Licenses: Valid Drivers License, Pest Control Advisors Licenses.
