Social Services Specialist II
Fairfax County Government – Fairfax, VA – Works as part of an innovative intake unit for the Adult and Aging Division and serves as the first point of contact for clients seeking long-term care for older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. Duties include: Provides short-term telephone services; conducts initial assessments and assignments to social service specialists; provides telephone crisis intervention, and information and referral. Staffs the county’s Adult Protective Services (APS) Hotline and determines validity of APS reports before assigning cases to an investigator. Provides periodic community education and outreach, as well as occasional face-to-face in-office consultations. Uses automated technology in multiple systems for documentation of work.
