CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Processing and Food Ingredients group. We are looking for a Soy Operator to safely and efficiently perform the job functions of bagging, sewing, palletizing and cleaning in the Soy plant. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be self-motivated, and work well in a team setting.
Hours are 6 pm – 6 am on a 2 week rotating 12 hour schedule.
No days. You will:Learn and perform all aspects of the bagger, sewer, palletizer and cleaner job functions while maintaining food safety, employee safety, and line efficiencies.Assist the Process Lead during line changeovers and start-ups.Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the processing and storage rooms at all times.Monitor machines and make minor adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency requirements.Assist with the training of new employees in conjunction with the Process Lead and Shift Manager.Follow the specifications established for product and packaging requirements.Keep abreast of the production schedule and plan changeovers accordingly.Performs changeover and end of run cleaning as directed by the Process Lead and Shift Manager.Learn and comply with all food safety, GMP, and sanitation policies and procedures.Work non-scheduled days including overtime and weekends as needed.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)High school diploma or GED.Ability to read and write.Basic math problem solving ability.Fork lift license.Able to work non-scheduled daysAble to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs.Able to pass a pre-employment medical and fit test for respirator use.Able to wear required protective equipment including a hard hat, hair net, safety glasses and safety boots.Preferred Qualifications: (desired)Previous experience in related position.
