ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assists with the development and execution of the soybean and wheat seed growing, conditioning, packaging and quality with outside suppliers for annual seed production as prepared by the Product Manager. Oversees the prioritization and entry of soybean and wheat quality data from the lab into our quality assuarance database. Uses computer tools, reports, and works with seed supply sources to gurantee quality product shipped to our member companies. Position seed to fill customer orders in timely manner. Maintains inventory systems to ensure accurate availability of product. Must keep current on product line technologies, new and current product as well as technical information. Responsible for managing the details of Soybean and Wheat product lines which include: product placement, working with contractors to obtain all necessary contracts and samples, and providing processing instructions to production facilities to ensure products meet quality guidelines and arepackaged according to estimated sales needs. Manages and tracks seed wholesale purchase contract information to ensure the plants and accounting receive timely and useful information to maintain efficient operations. Leads and manages the Division’s efforts in soybean and wheat seed package design, ordering, and inventory control. Manages supply inventory and ensure supplies are moved to the proper packaging location. Fulfill all requests for packaging and seed label tags based on detailed product attributes/traits. Assures all incoming/outgoing contracts match invoice quantities for correct accounting practices. Provide all soybean and wheat contractor locations with necessary information to process inbound and outbound orders. Manages and builds vendor relationships. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Supports and implements the Division’s efforts in enabling technology when/if applicable. Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, or the equivalent thereof, and 4 years or more of seed production related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of inventory and supply management systems. Understanding and experience with seed-related areas including seed plant operations, seed product lines, seed quality factors, forecasting, distribution, order fulfillment, technical support, inventory control, decision making, and allocations. Must be able to learn seed analysis and quality assurance testing standards. Ability to read, assimilate, evaluates, and interpret technical data pertaining to the seed production and seed quality testing. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Proven leadership skills and the ability to achieve results through others. Proven computer skills including Word and Excel along with the ability to learn GROWMARK related software and use the computer to enhance business processes. Ability to work hours other than those considered normal. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
