SUMMARY:This position is responsible for sourcing equipment, products and/or services at the best value that meets Tyson's standards of quality and reliability. This role plays an integral part in planning, coordinating, negotiating, implementing, and tracking procurement contractual commitments. Responsibilities include: active participation in supplier relationship management and maintain close contact with suppliers to keep them informed of policies and procedures; continual engagement with supplier base in cost savings initiatives and provide ongoing evaluation of their performance through specific measurement tools, such as scorecards; work in conjunction with other business units to develop purchasing programs and strategies for a wide-breadth of cross-functional areas which will maximize the value for the company of items purchased; research and analysis of assigned categories through use of internal analytical tools (SPM, QMF, CMS, etc.); investigate, plan, coordinate and execute various sourcing projects (RFP's) to result in category cost savings. This may include participation and collaboration in cross functional teams; responsible for developing and maintaining Category Management overviews, risk management assessments, business continuity plans, market driver assessments and accompanying price mitigation plans, company and supplier strategy, and supplier measurements; other duties include communicatingprogram initiatives and special changes/consolidations to Tyson Foods facilities, as well as performing other responsibilities as needed.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience: 4 + years' experience; Production and/or maintenance background preferred; Purchasing experience a plus.Computer Skills: Requires intermediate computer skills in SAP, Fresh Meats system, and Microsoft office suite.
