Specialty Soy & Grains Alliance Executive Director
Ag Management Solutions, LLC Ag Management Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic professional to fill an immediate opening as Specialty Soya & Grains Alliance Executive Director in our Mankato, MN office. POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the CEO of Ag Management Solutions, and under the general direction of the CEO as well as the Specialty Soya & Grains Alliance (SSGA) board of directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration and management of SSGA, including program creation and execution, revenue development and business operations. Areas of responsibility include strategic board development and execution as directed by board of directors, board meeting planning, program evaluation, policy development, public relations, personnel and fiscal management. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESServe as SSGA’s lead staff, responsible for analyzing trends in the specialty soya and grains industry including the transportation of these products and to work with the SSGA board and staff to position the organization to grow into and thrive on a national level.Lead SSGA’s strategic process, planning and ensure continued progress toward achieving strategic objectives through effective performance measurements. Oversee programs, services and activities in market development, promotions, transportation, communications, issues management/analysis and education to ensure organizational goals are met. Establish positive relationships and communicate effectively and collaboratively with other organizations that promote the viability and profitability of the specialty soya grains industry.Lead efforts to create new alliances, partnerships and collaborations with other organizations in and outside of the soybean industry; specifically, United Soybean Board (USB) and state Qualified State Soybean Boards (QSSB’s) and all groups that work similarly in the international specialty grains market.Coordinate legislative activities for SSGA.Maintain a high profile on the organization’s goals via industry meetings and events including the US Soy Global Trade Exchange.Oversee acquisition, retention and maintenance of members. Focus on planning and conducting member involvement programs.Manage financial, operational and administrative activities for the Boards, while ensuring integrity and compliance on all management activities.Clear focus and dedication to existing members of MSA and NFGSA during the first two years. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSFour-year degree and a minimum of seven years progressively gaining in responsibility in related fields. Demonstrated comprehensive working knowledge of strategy development and planning.Possess an understanding of market development, promotions, and communications of specialty soybean and grain producers, processors and shippers.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a collaborative team environment, working closely with the board, contractors and volunteers at all levels. Knowledge of state/federal legislative process related to the industryStrong written and oral communication skills with internal and external audiences.Ability to supervise, direct, motivate and evaluate staff performance Available to work evenings and weekends as job requires, frequent travel (25%+) intrastate, interstate and internationally.
