Sr. Accountant – Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain NA

We help our customers compete in the global market and efficiently deliver products from origins to destinations through our marketing, sourcing, originating, storing, trading, consulting and processing of grain, oilseeds and crop inputs products and solutions. CASC NA business reaches across Canada, United States & Mexico with an expansive asset footprint including over 200 grain elevators, export/import facilities, oilseed crush plants, biodiesel facilities, and farm service centers.?CASC NA has an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant, located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. ?The Soy Crush Segment crushes approximately 330 million bushels of soybeans annually.? Our regional accounting office supports 7 soy crush plants which crush approximately 190 million bushels annually.? This position will specifically be over the Flake Specialty business, which is made up of 2 of these facilities. As the Senior Accountant, this position will be part of the Specialty Leadership Team.? You will play an integral role in supporting internal controls, P&L reporting and analysis, balance sheet reconciliation and approval, budgeting, capital approvals and business partnering with all functions.?
??Principal Accountabilities ?50% – Analyze Business results??Perform and prepare monthly financial statements with management team, while providing analysis of expenses and SG&A
Analyze key management reports and metrics to add insight and recommend actions to improve results
Understand key risks for assigned functions and playing an advisory role to ensure proper risk and controls are in place
Create, implement, and maintain the proper process and controls that are generated from out Audit findings.
Build and provide analysis for monthly scorecard for key business metrics??
30% – Business Partnering and Leadership??
Analyze, interpret, and provide data and information to guide process and solution decisions
Assist in translating business requirements into functional design specifications
Review existing documentation, process control best practices, etc. to achieve desired business efficiencies
Frequent visits to facility sites, to make improvements around controls and efficiencies??20% – Projects and Process Improvement Initiatives?
Help develop and analyze capital projects, acquisitions, and divestitures
Work with merchants to improve report accuracy and efficiency while building a collaborative environment
Any other duties as assigned?Skills:
Required Qualifications?Bachelor?s degree or higher in accounting/finance
6+ years experience in: analytics, finance, and/or accounting
Experience in leading change to achieve desired results
Strong communication skills/ability to communicate with multiple levels
Strong decision making, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Strategic thinking and understands the big picture
Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate technical and business information effectively to both technical and non-technical people.
