Florham Park, NJWhere the Chemistry HappensWe are seeking a resourceful, motivated professional like you to join the North American Finance Organization to support the Accounting & Reporting team in the area of benefits. Based in the Florham Park, New Jersey headquarters of BASF Corporation, you will regularly liaise with colleagues in the Corporation?s HR Services (NTH/S) in North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico) and will support the Accounting & Reporting Lead, HR Accounting, as it relates to accounting and reporting matters concerning payroll and benefits. Additionally, the position will support divestitures and acquisitions/integrations with respect to the aspects of payroll/benefit accounting. Formula for Success ? Leveraging your educational background and professional experience, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills, you will interact with the human resource team providing solutions and guidance for payroll-related and fringe benefit issues. ? You will be expected to apply solid analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in supporting benefit plan audits, including planning and preparation of financial statements. ? Utilizing your understanding of the Group Accounting & Reporting Guidelines and BASF Financial Reporting systems, as well as fundamental accounting concepts and core IFRS/GAAP principles, you will be expected to provide assurance that the activity in certain payroll and benefit-related general ledger accounts is properly reflected, and that such amounts reported in the financial statements and related footnotes of the regions? group companies are properly stated. ? You will support the Accounting & Reporting Lead, HR Accounting, with the development of monthly, quarterly and annual benefit-related entries and footnotes for US entities and assist with such related postings to the other Non-US affiliates in the North American region, namely Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.? As a trusted advisor, you will partner with the Accounting & Reporting Lead, HR Accounting to work with cross-functional teams to support the development of the accounting impacts of transition plans for payroll-related activities for acquisitions/integrations and divestitures. ? Employing your ability to interpret information, you will prepare the monthly BASF Options Program (BOP) entries and reporting in accordance with BASF Group Accounting & Reporting Guidelines. ? Capitalizing on your experience and success managing multiple priorities simultaneously, you will work independently to balance and successfully execute on tasks and project objectives. ? Leveraging your strong technical skills in SAP and Excel and your ability to interpret and summarize information, you will provide support in areas such as internal management reporting, year-end financial package reporting, technical accounting research/documentation, and in facilitating the Company satisfying external audit requirements.
