Reporting directly to the VP of Retail Supply Chain the Sr. Director Supply Chain COE will be responsible for ensuring Nutrien Ag Solutions supply chain functions are seamlessly and efficiently delivering product to over 1,600 locations across North America. Additionally, the Sr. Director will evaluate and improve supply chain processes in international countries that Nutrien Ag Solutions operates.The Supply Chain COE will consist of a team of supply chain subject matter experts whose sole role is to make Nutrien Ag Solutions supply chain a world class system and organization. The COE will assess performance, identify improvement initiatives, and coordinate execution of improvement initiatives across all pillars of the supply chain. Functions in scope for this review include: Production Planning, Field Asset Management, Transportation, Distribution, & Logistics, and Inventory Management/Integrated Business Planning (IBP). The objective of the COE is to drive governance, manage and oversee balanced scorecard of metrics to drive action and accountability, execute a culture of innovation, and steward change management.Key Tasks:Build world class supply chain standards in planning/IBP, transportation, distribution, logistics, and warehouse/terminal operationsWork closely with the VP of Retail Supply Chain and other senior leaders to set a vision, plan, and execute effectivelyDrive innovationThink outside the box to create a cutting-edge distribution network that excels in using conventional channels, as well as non-conventional channels such as e-commerce platformsLeverage the size and scope of Nutrien Ag Solution’s current network and assets to create synergies across the organization using new ideas and data-driven insightsLead logistics network optimization and supply chain strategy studies to continually ensure the network supports the organization’s long-term objectives and creates value for the customer Utilize best-in-class processes based in SAPMetrics and analyticsLead supply chain improvement projects and track performance using key metricsLead a collaborative team of supply chain experts and data scientists to conduct supply chain improvement studies that provide meaningful, data-driven insightsDrive balanced scorecard for supply chain COE and actively manage overall performance to achieve desired targetsEstablish accountability and governanceCreate standard operating process across all product shelves and functions that seamlessly work together to deliver exceptional service to the fieldUtilize best-in-class processes based in SAP, while improving on processes established from legacy systemsLead a proactive change management strategyContinually liaise with other business functions to create value to our customers and break barriers between supply chain and the rest of the organization Create a culture of continuous improvement and instill Lean Six Sigma principlesSkills:10+ years in supply chain functional managementExtensive experience leading and implementing a supply chain transformation for a large and complex logistics networkExperience in assessing current state operating models, creating maturity models to identify areas of improvement, and executing on a planExperience with creating and using a balanced scorecard to track performance and improve key metricsExperience with SAP system operation and capabilityDemonstrates the ability to think strategically and directionally while also able to understand and account for detailed operational realities Thorough understanding of supply/demand planning, logistics network optimization, inbound/outbound transportation, and has end-to-end supply chain experienceLead or closely worked with major warehouse operations, including terminal, cross-dock, and other facility operations Understands over-the-road (OTR) truck rate/routing and other transportation optionsUnderstands import/export ocean freight and is familiar with river logisticsExperience managing or working in international supply chain operationsSix Sigma Green BeltQualifications:Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent degreeMaster’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred but not requiredNutrien Ag Solutions, a Nutrien Company, is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
