Culture at Nutrien is the core of everything we do and all employees are respectful of diverse opinions and views.As Sr. Analyst,  you will be an integral part of two, highly visible on-going initiatives; The “Foundation” and Digital Team Initiatives within Nutrien Ag Solutions – the retail division of Nutrien, the world’s largest provider of crop inputs and services.  The Foundation initiative is  focused on the implementation of SAP and will completely transform and modernize our Point of Sale and Back-Office accounting systems.  The Foundation team, comprised of a combination of dedicated back-office and field personnel, is committed to the successful planning, roll-out, transition and completion of this project.  The Digital team is revolutionizing the Ag industry with cutting edge technology.  The team is comprised of developers, engineers, data scientists, research experts and others who are leveraging technology to improve outcomes for the growers we serve and to put new technology into the hands of our salespeople.  The Sr. Analyst will work closely and cross-functionally within the organization, including with Management and  Leadership to establish and communicate cost and timeline reporting expectations as well as creating reports, dashboards and KPI metrics to effectively monitor the project’s financial status/progress. Your efforts will ensure effective accounting processes and information are in place, ultimately contributing to success.   Key Tasks:Responsible for cost analysis and reporting on the Foundation and Digital initiativesCreate and implement reporting, dashboards and KPIs to track the project’s financial progressMake decisions determining approach to managing and completing processesEnsure compliance with controls, requirements, policies and proceduresDevelop/maintain desktop procedures and process documentation for area of responsibilityReview all incoming invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and codingResponsible for reconciliation of invoices and budgets Ensure invoices are in accordance with contract requirements and documentsInteract with vendors regarding invoice issues and requests for detailed informationUpdate and analyze project budgets and forecasts for accuracyProvide support, assist and guide project team with cost managementRespond to special requests for accounting/financial information internally and externallyCompare work completed to date against forecasted scheduleMonitor job progress and potential overruns against budgetsWork closely with Leaders on project budgets – actual vs. cost to completeUpdate financial/operational reporting and budget preparationPrepare journal entries to make necessary corrections, allocations, accruals and reclassificationsAssist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clientsAttend project-related meetings and collaborate with the project teamOther duties as assignedSkills:Strong leadership skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly detail orientedSelf-MotivatedStrong analytical, interpersonal and communication skillsQualifications:BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or related3-5 or more years of Accounting/Finance experience3-5 years of large-scale project management experienceExperience in financial analysis budgeting, forecasting and long range planning Experience with review and reconciliation of vendor invoices for large scale projectsExperience creating and implementing reporting procedures for large scale projectsExperience in project accounting, tracking invoices, budgets and contract managementExperience in developing regular reports for Senior Management tracking project costs and budgetsStrong MS Excel skillsNutrien is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.  We encourage applications from all well qualified candidates who reflect the diversity of the regions where we operate.  This includes recognizing the voluntary identification of status such as gender, sexual orientation, visible minority, Indigenous status, persons with disabilities, and veterans, where applicable.If this sounds like a good match, apply now.
