Sr. Marketing Communications Specialist
The Marketing Communications Specialist – Swine will lead the development and execution of the swine species category marketing communication strategy and budget for the CPN Commercial Swine Business. Using marketing principles, the MarComm Specialist will develop, oversee and execute the communication plans for internal and external stakeholders to support our marketing projects and on-going business objectives specific to the swine business. This role has full accountability for the accurate, timely and successful delivery of all marketing communications activities to support the swine business goals. He or she will accomplish this through leading cross-functional teams of internal and external resources such as species technology experts, independent contractors and creative agencies.
The MarCom Specialist will manage the swine marketing budget and is responsible for implementing activities that deliver a return on marketing investment. This includes industry alliances, trade show participation and sponsorships. The MarCom Specialist also will collaborate with the commercial team to ensure the swine tactical marketing needs of key customers are being fulfilled.
The MarComm Specialist will regularly report on marketing campaign effectiveness and extract key metrics and insights in their category. Routinely reports and recommends appropriate action to influence the overall business results and marketing strategy of the business. The MarComm Specialist will serve as a key member on our Marketing Communications and Swine Commercial team. They will represent industry trends and consumers preferences to the organization based on their analysis and interaction in the market.
40% – Manage Species Communication and Media Strategy & Approach:
? The MarComm Specialist will also develop and oversee the communication plans for internal and external stakeholders to support our marketing projects and on-going business objectives. This role will manage and execute the creation, development and review of content for their species category such as packaging, web content, brochures, training programs, internal and external newsletters, e-mail marketing and communication programs, press releases, and other communication vehicles directed at consumers, customers, and our employees.
? Write and execute on internal and external communication strategies. Distribute external business announcements, including internal newsletter coordination and publication. Lead the development and placement of advertisements, press releases, etc. with external agency and internal communication teams and corporate affairs for the business unit.
? Manage media relations in conjunction with external agency and internal Cargill departments. Ensure timely follow up on media opportunities.
30% – Develop and Implement Species Marketing Plan:
? Independently lead the development and execution of our swine species marketing communication strategy and action plan, creating a consistent, relevant experience for our customers and consumers across all species and channels.
? The MarComm Specialist has full accountability for the accurate, timely and successful delivery of all marketing communications activities in these designated channels. They will often accomplish this through indirectly leading cross-functional teams of internal and external resources such as species technology experts, independent contractors, media buyers and creative agencies.
? Build tactical marketing capabilities in the business, along with the marketing capabilities required to drive growth and serve customers of tomorrow. This includes application of the brand strategy, marketing academy, go-to-market teams, sales execution and other key offering elements (launch package: i.e. pricing, sales promotion, product, services and software portfolio, etc. as developed with Strategic Marketing role and other functions).
15% – Manage Industry Alliances, Partnerships, and Sponsorships
? Manage media relations and ensure timely follow up on media opportunities
? Monitors industry news, competitors, customer and consumer feedback and inform marketing managers.
