Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us Feed the Future, and grow your career.Position will report to the Engineering Manager.What you will do:Work daily with team members under the direction of the Engineering Manager to accomplish plant objectives in the following priority areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality, Reliability, Production, Efficiency, Cost Reduction and InnovationAct as process engineering SME mentoring and reviewing work from junior process engineers as neededPerform and/or initiates effective and timely engineering and technical studies to troubleshoot known plant problems, predict impending problems and to optimize plant operations in the above priority areasPerform and/or contributes to thorough process reviews, Hazard and Operability Studies (Hazops) and “What If” analyses on current operations and on proposed changes to plant equipment, processes and systems via the plant Process Safety Management of Change (MOC) processPerform and/or contributes to Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and incident investigations and completes assigned action items on schedulePromote and contributes to successful implementation of projects by providing accurate, timely and thorough design input / design review and by facilitating close coordination and communications with area personnelPromote and contributes to site Manufacturing Excellence and Operations Driven Reliability (ODR) processesIdentify and facilitates implementation of production, reliability, efficiency and cost improvement opportunitiesResearch and evaluates industry technology advancements, other plant experiences and innovative ideas. Develops and maintains networks with other Nutrien and Nitrogen industry plantsPerform special studies / projects as directed by the Engineering ManagerEnsure proper loading of vessels during catalyst, desiccant, packing and gauze changesAct as the project engineer for capital projects which includes the responsibility for coordinating the design team to achieve overall design accuracy for all engineering disciplines associated with the projectOther duties as assignedWhat you will bring:BS Degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering disciplineMinimum of 10+ years engineering experience in the chemical process industryStrong and proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Engineering softwareMust possess valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record that meets company standardsAbility to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) cardSuccessful completion and passing of company pre-employment background check, drug screen and other related testingEffectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with coworkers, contractors, government officials and Senior ManagementRead and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic advanced numerical calculationsAbility to complete HAZ-MAT, DOT, Confined Space, and Lockout/Tagout trainingMust be able to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problemsAble to organize and prioritize multiple projects and makes adjustments quickly as neededAble to analyze financial and cost data and develop conclusions and recommendationsAbility to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other peopleMust have intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point)Must possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with both company and contract employeesMust be goal orientated, self-motivated and able to work independentlyMust have strong analytical and troubleshooting skillsMust be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMust be willing to work in protected areas at heights greater than six (6) feet above groundMust be able to work over water (dock)Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawlMust be able to hear and smell for deficiencies or hazardsOvertime may be required and is anticipatedMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMust be able to work in all weather conditionsMaintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performanceMust be willing to occasionally work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and requiredMust be available to respond to call-out as assignedMust be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow work rulesMust be able to communicate effectively with fellow workers and demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and proceduresMust be able to withstand moderate noise levelsAre you a good match?
