Sr Production Manager
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Rendering Operation functions in a fresh meat production facility to include, but not limited to the following: Safety, coordinating production activities with maintenance scheduling, projecting and ensuring proper staffing requirements for the rendering department, ensuring effective understanding and use of rendering operations and product specs, training and development of the rendering management andhourly team members. Assist in the development and management of the rendering operation budget. Promote rendering best practices to increase equipment reliability and reduce operation cost. Maintain awareness of waste water and other EPArequirements in the rendering operations while maintaining surveillance of overall operation, oversees performance of all facets of rendering. Monitor product yields and general efficiencies of department. In addition this position will have responsibility for assisting the plant Engineer/Maintenance Superintendent in the development, implementation, operation and maintenance of the annual capital budget; and act as project manager on operation expenditure projects to ensureproper project scope development, equipment specifications, costing, planning, scheduling and start up. Provide management with information, materials, and training to enable them to produce high quality product and work. Monitor records for attendance, payroll, production reports and ergonomics. Promoting new ideas and encouraging the development of all team members.QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: Must have strong knowledge of Rendering Operations and Maintenance of Equipment; Vertical/Horizontal Centrifuges, Grinders, Steam System of Pressure Vessels, Crax Dryers, Conveyors/Auger System, Basic Electrical. Must have an excellent attendance, safety record and the ability to work extended day/hours as needed. Travel: 0 – 10% Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and communication skills, which includes the ability to lead people by example and delegate responsibilities as needed. ,, Supervisory Responsibilities: The individual selected for this position is responsible for managing a group of front-line supervisors who perform various tasks and activities. Ensure compliance with all human resource and safety policies, environmental/wastewater programs, food safety, sanitation and all other duties as determined by management. Special Skills: Must be self-motivated and have the ability to demonstrate sound judgment, leadership, and decision-making skills, along with a sound working knowledge of sales and traffic of Tyson's systems. Knowledge of Low Temp. Rendering System. Computer Skills: Requires elementary computer skills.
