Sr Projects Engineer
Project Engineer will work on Non-Base projects that are orginating from the business strategy to play and win the value added oils and fats space. Incumbent will have to work closely with commercial teams, R&D team, Value Engineer ,engineers at the facility, process equipment suppliers, engineering contractors to convert product formulation and customer expectations to executable engineering designs and and upon approval of such designs the incumbent will have to manage the execution of such projects. The incumbent will be accountable for Project Safety, Cost, Delivered Capabilities. The incumbent will have to work seamlessly with the various Manufacturing technology leads and Operational leadership teams. The incumbent will need to collaborate with project and plant ops teams globally to identify best practices and include them in the projects at Sidney. Principal Accountabilities 15%?Gap assessment, solution identification and measurement?? Partners/maintains strong business/customer partnership to assess/identify technology gaps and process improvement opportunities. ? Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business operations to understand/support the manufacturing setting, business product/service life cycle, environmental, and sustainability impact, future growth considerations, as well as overall cost of ownership and long-term usability of assets (i.e., participate in site visits, interacts with Production managers, Subject Matter Experts Leads or SMEs (i.e. Best ? Practices or Community of practices, Manufacturing Technology Leads), site RE/Maintenance Lead). ? Independently assess/identifies technology application gaps by monitoring/tracking and supporting auditing control mechanisms (i.e. conducts deep/shallow dives, implements auditing controls/scorecard tools) to recommend/propose and/or implement process improvement solutions that contributes to efficiency improvements and deliver cost savings. May directly/indirectly collaborate with a functional group and/or location peers to assess technology development/application opportunities and further dissemination across common businesses practices areas. ? Establishes and implements compliance and audit governance. Deploys corporate benchmarking metrics and performance measurements. Ensures cost effective utilization and integrity of automated tools and technology. Prepares reports/communications for key stakeholders including BU/Operational Leadership Team; and for review by Engineering/Plant Operations managers and/or Corporate Functional SMEs (Environment, Health and Safety, Process Safety Management, Food Safety and Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, Quality Control, SMEs,etc). ? Supports more complex operations by analyzing and developing recommendation in regards to failures, downtime and lost production and identifies/implement solution to improve operator reliability and/or determines acceptable risk tolerance for assets. ? Independently identifies, proposes and/or deploys appropriate technology solution considering overall safety standards, food safety, quality, process safety, capacity, reliability, environmental and costs constraints. ? Develops multiple and more complex cost scenarios to achieve solutions objectives and substantiates benefits/limitations of each option. Writes-up commitment and project charter for funding approval if appropriate. 50% Engineering, technology domain application, training and support? Responsible for leading project/engineering deliverables, design standards, planning and/or implementation of operational vision, direction and strategy for a core and/or broader multidisciplinary technology/engineering domain areas inclusive of cross-functional technology/engineering work coordination (i.e. Supports SMEs, PDGs, COEs, Community of Practices, Shared Services) and/or provides direct customer support and delivery of services for a region/geography/multiple sites/plants. ? May independently, or in conjunction with shared services and/or network of SMEs organizations, leads the planning and execution of engineering services for a more complex client (multiple plants) and/or assigned geography. With limited oversight, plans for future engineering needs and conducts medium-short term horizon planning required for normal operations. Where applicable, may provide direction and assign tasks to more junior engineers, technicians and support staff regarding the processes and delivery of services. ? Independently partners and supports stakeholder relationships to accomplish/complete assignments and implements standards and procedures. ? Supports global network of core ?Subject Matter Experts? (SME) that enables sustainability and promotion of key programs and policies (QA inspections, capital effectiveness and project management best practices, reliability, Process, Systems and Controls, Process Development Groups, Process Safety Management, etc). ? Applies in-depth knowledge of current and full-range of principles, terms, and practices of a core technology/engineering domain area and/or broader knowledge across multiple technology/domain areas to support the design/build of safe and reliable plants/operations. ? Draws on technical/engineering expertise to consult/lead/maintain the adoption/implementation of policies, procedures and standards as well as planning and execution of more complex technology/engineering assignments. ? Directly/Indirectly provides day-to-day technical and engineering support specific to a domain area(s) required for normal operations as well as project engineering tactical support (i.e. preparing of scope, budgets, design flows/diagrams, commissions, start-up schedules, equipment selection, process documentation, instrumentations/controls, etc) to more complex base and non-base capital projects. ? Identifies potential safety risks and liability implications involved in specific areas of engineering application (i.e. operations, quality control, construction, maintenance, reliability, etc) and/or products/processes. Independently identifies/troubleshoots more complex technical issues and may directly/indirectly resolve the more complex matters associated with the area(s) of work. ? Coordinates implements, monitors and supports maintenance of asset health strategy (i.e. asset criticality, maintenance strategies, health reporting),operator care procedures (i.e. inspection routines, defect tagging, visual management, one point lessons) and is responsible for designing, developing and deploying specific training to more junior engineers, plant personnel and/or SME network of peers. ? Facilitates training sessions for operations/reliability maintenance personnel, focusing on skills training and development, safety practices and work standards. Delivers/supports learning solutions in a manner that engages learners and produces desired outcomes. ? Develops and maintains vendor management relationships. Acts as subject matter expert for, and may lead in conjunction with Strategic Sourcing, activities related to vendor selection. Assists/support in negotiating more complex purchasing agreements. ? Ensures operations/technology safety compliance with all applicable regulations (i.e. food safety, quality, environmental, OSHA, etc.) and Cargill Safety and Reliability 15% Project Planning and Management ? With minimal oversight, provides direct/indirect consultative support to the capital planning process for base and non-base capital projects. Provides input to the project pipeline/portfolio with ideas for capturing, monitoring and/or applying leading practices insight as well as to the growth of distinctive product/engineering/technology applications offerings.
